Union's been doing that box and the carboard holders for discs for all of their bindings for a season or two now, not really new.

nope, heelcup is riveted in.

haha, ok... I was gonna post a photo of how much lateral flex I have with my bindings, it's not as extreme as that ^, but I can tuck my back knee maybe 4-5" away from the board
