It’s about an hour drive each way to get it, do you guys think it is worth dumping $250 for this board? It would be a backup board for when my current one (2016 antler) is toast as the base is getting quite thin
$250, 7 year old barely used board, no warranty, decent graphics
It would either be this board for $250 or a custom x when they go on sale eventually
Lmao I would not pay mor than $150 for a 7 year old used deck, much less sink two hours, gas, and deprecation on top. But if you want that specific board you're probably not going to find another one in good shape so you do you.

After a few turns, this board isn't for me. The specs looked promising, like a freestyle Super 8 but was the opposite. Felt twitchy and nervous even in slow speeds, got worse when going faster. Kinda unpredictable in soft snow and I guess scary in when the manmade snow turns into ice.
Ahhh man, it’s not looking good for my unwrapped Sickstick haha. A more freestyle Super 8 is pretty much what I was hoping for. I’m loving my Lib Rig, though, which kinda fits that bill.
Well it depends on what you compare it too. Twitchier than an old Johan board yes. I bought it thinking it would hopefully be twitchy, playful and fast turning. That’s kinda what it is. For me personally it’s just a little wide for the snow I’m riding. It’s going to be fine as a freestyle powder board.

I should probably have bought the 159 instead of the 163.

Spenser wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2024 8:06 pm I came across a youtube comment last week, in a thread where someone had pointed out there is no proof of him riding. Cult members got real defensive, the most prominent suggesting that if you were to ride with him, you better not skip leg day, because you probably couldn't keep up.

What the actual fuck are other people seeing? My interest in this isn't in talking shit, I'm just trying to understand it from a psychological perspective. Why are his followers so devout, when they can be nothing but blind?

What if he's playing the long-game and pranking everyone with this? It would rival "birds aren't real," IMO.
The guy is stiff, looks like a pole standing in the middle of the slope 🤦🏻 actually looks like he knows how to handle the board, but looks like he's not trained, looks like he doesn't use his muscles, his body, he just stand on the board and only use is weight, weird looking onestly, the other guy is ok, not a pro but not bad.
Hope that the video is sarcastic about the fact that only people trained like Longo could do side hits like that.

About angry credibility sure is a psychological thing, kind of if you convince yourself of something you can convince others too even if you actually know little or nothing, I think is related to something like Dunning-Kruger effect, or something like that.

There is an endless amount of amazing boards out there. To pigeon hole yourself into riding 7 year old Burton decks is very silly imho. Live a little and open your mind. Check out some other brands while youre at it

I am pretty dead set the custom x will be my next board the only thing that irks me is the stance setback on it as I ride switch half time
Sticking with Burton for the time being since I have EST bindings and EST sole optimized boots so it all works well together.. I also love the tweak ability of the channel to a T

There’s better stuff out there. Don’t get stuck in the Burton ecosystem.
