Speaking of Volcom, I picked up some new stuff. They were out of XL in the ivy Longo jacket, but truthfully I think it's a bit wide for my taste in that size, so I tried a large - time will tell if I change my mind. They don't really feel shorter to me (I think that's largely in the way people wear them with the bottom rolled up) so the length is good, but I like the relaxed fit compared to the standard larges I've had. The hood isn't quite as huge, and jacket looks rad. I like the new double chest pocket arrangement, no color blocking on this one, and the little leather bat detail.

Tried both black and grey Dua pants... I haven't worn black in years, but I think I'm ready. They're listed as baggy fit, but it's a lot closer to standard relaxed than their actual baggies (longo, des, newark, etc). Really similar to the L, just something about it that hangs a hair more loose. Compared to L, the dua jacket material feels a bit lighter, while the pant feels slightly more burly.

I'm really stoked for the Longo pant next year with the cinch, instead of elastic, so I can go to the more classic baggy fit.

Ivy is now my favorite Volcom color, along with the original teak

Great info. I was actually just looking at the Dua and L pants since that 50% off code still works. I saw they had different fits, but look really similar in the stock photos.

Ivy is sick. I’ve always had a forest or olive green jacket in the rotation, but my girlfriend hates it because she says she can’t see me haha. And black pants FTW, classic look and goes with almost any jacket.

Laying the pants over one another, it's hard to tell how they differ, but I can feel it when I wear them. Maybe it's the exact cut of the rise/seat that hangs a little more relaxed, and maybe the slight articulated leg shape is lesser than the L. Still wish they would stop doing such heavy/stiff inner thigh vents so their pants could hang more naturally.

I have a pair of L pants in military from a few years ago, which is a true dark army green, but the exact hue of Ivy is the perfect army color IMO. Just looks like an old army jacket.

I love the way the ivy longo pants look on video (Longo and Cannon wearing them a lot), the elastic just doesn't work for me. But that said… I think I might just give it a real shot and order them in chestnut. Easy to resell if I still can't do it. Think I'll try the same thing I'm doing with the elastic jacket cuffs… I flip them inside the sleeves, which allows the sleeve to settle further down the arm, instead of sorta being held up the arm.

No mention of team riders, and only a passing reference to Volcom’s importance in the snowboard outerwear ecosystem, but certainly a questionable move in itself.

I’m not a huge fan of shop eat surf, but i expect the headline is at least accurate.

Anybody know anything about the Levy Group?

Ugh. Looks like the Levy Group are the guys who’ve been screwing up Dakine.

Also, Dakine’s outerwear is up on their site finally. A new level of underwhelming. :?

Anyone have a recommendation maybe?
You could get something like a Brynje Super Thermo as inner layer, then a regular merino wool shirt as midlayer. Very hot and very thin.
The Mesh base layer has me interested. Anybody else use these?

You can't be serious. Unless you're talking about wearing it to some sort of German sex club?
