OUTERWEAR
Re: OUTERWEAR
Saw this on Instagram, seems the Volcom x Baldface collab has come to and end.
Now it's Northface again. Never tried Northface snowboard outerwear so can't say anything positive/negative about it.

That's a shame, because without the gills it's actually a good looking kit.Kevington wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 1:42 am New T Rice kit has magne traction on the knees and elbows. It worked on the Orca I guess. Bro is taking his sea fetish too far, looks like a crayfish outfit.

Re: OUTERWEAR
Man, what's happening with Volcom? Supposedly dropping huge riders next season, dropping their Baldface collab, etc. Something tells me Authentic Brands is up to no good.Jean77 wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 4:38 am Saw this on Instagram, seems the Volcom x Baldface collab has come to and end.
Re: OUTERWEAR
I've read that here to.. Maybe they want more "allround outerwear lines" instead of the "pro model lines" so they sell faster? Or giving others the chance ton have a "pro line" like Cannon? Don't know.. Really curious tho for Volcom next season.eleveneightnate wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 6:29 amMan, what's happening with Volcom? sounds like Volcom is going to be more surf specific and less ski/snowboard under their new managers

I quit caring and supporting them when they went VC/PE the first time.

Re: OUTERWEAR
except for the boots, I can't tell anymore standing in the lift line from one's outerwear if they're a skier or boarder these days.Kevington wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 1:38 am Totally agree. I'd go full Pata if I was OK with looking like a skier.

Re: OUTERWEAR
Which is interesting because Billabong is all surf now and Quik is mostly surf. Seems like, if anything, they should shift Volcom further toward snow.benjinyc wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 7:53 am https://www.surfer.com/news/authentic-b ... olcom-rvca

Re: OUTERWEAR
I imagine the profit margins for selling board shorts and t-shirts in shopping malls is bigger than technical backcountry shells, esp when most of that market has been taken by brands with a reputation in that space?
I never gave volcom snow outerwear a look until I joined this group, and even then I'd prob pick arcteryx, Patagonia, norrona etc over it for a myriad of reasons... one is that these companies actually have a physical retail location where I live

It’s a shame Volcom is losing their shit. I just tech washed and re proofed my Volcom L jacket yesterday and realized there isn’t a mark on it after 100 or so days, outerwear is the one thing I usually beat up.
