Hardgoods 23/24
Re: Hardgoods 23/24
Finally some real innovation.
Re: Hardgoods 23/24
Not really sure about that, just my guess, but I think that the hps boards are made by Wolle himself, at least on insta he occasionaly post pictures of woodcores worked out in his small factory ( where he builds aesmo) and he eventually tags the salomon boards or sponsored riders, but maybe can be just prototype production.coleslawed wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 12:41 pm I think Salomon uses a couple different factories, I know some boards are coming out of Titan in Hong Kong, but some are still coming out of Europe, I would assume HPS are Euro-made.
what's wrong with Bulgaria?

interesting that they're kind of following Season's model of the simple graphics, too, for an in-house brand.Kevington wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 12:22 pm IMG_0464.png

New brand through Snowcountry, the big online retailer based in the Netherlands. Evo/Season would be the US equivalent I guess. Graphics are basically Korua with a blue base.
Funnily enough Jerry Niedermayer showed me some early Korua prototypes that had that same blue base. He said it was the only sintered ptex they could get hold of at the time that was wide enough for the shapes they were experimenting with.
€385 at the moment which is crazy cheap. Not sure what I think (or if I need to think) about online giants producing boards.
looks like a US Transmission/Stranda hybrid
Backcountry is doing their own outerwear, I know. have they done any private label hardgoods?
not sure what the future is of CHX/EVOL from TheHouse/Camping World now that they're fully integrated. I know last season there was a push to make them more "legit", I'd assume anything moving forward will be purely budget product if anything.

I guess if you count Whitespace maybe? Seems like that whole thing is happening through Backcountry. I know their goggles are just rebranded Dragons.coleslawed wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 1:24 pm Backcountry is doing their own outerwear, I know. have they done any private label hardgoods?
Re: Hardgoods 23/24
Backcountry sold their own deck last season…
whitespace only had a 1 year exclusive distribution thing with backcountry, anyone was still able to buy direct from whitespace though

I may be wrong but a few BC softgood brands have been BC (obviously), Stoic, Basin & Range... probably more. I've seen their one offs in hardgoods like a board, but not a whole brand. But...Did they have a hand in that cabin mtn tool snowboard thing?coleslawed wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 1:24 pmBackcountry is doing their own outerwear, I know. have they done any private label hardgoods?Kevington wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 12:22 pm IMG_0464.png
