Hard no for me as well. I've tripled down on my outerwear kit and should be set for 15 years, so hopefully should easily avoid that trend.

That's interesting on the bib length. I'm curious what adjustments are made to the patterns to get from standard pants to bibs. I assume the waist/hip is a little larger on bibs, but I wonder if they adjust the front/back rise and inseam as well. I'll have to bring my measuring tape to a shop someday.

I'm sure my perception of the board is not nearly as nuanced and detailed as others have shared on here before. I don't get out that many days and the Mercury for me is just solid all-around.

It's nimble enough at lower speeds but is super stable going fast. It's soft enough to butter here and there, but has good pop. A little setback makes it workable in a lil powder, but it still rides ok switch. Cuts through chop pretty well.

I like the Mid-wide-ish waist width too.

If it's a full-on powder day, the Panhandler comes out. Anything else: Mercury.

Also, Kevin Backstrom rides it.

Oh, yes. Panhandler is torsionally much softer than the Mercury.

The Panhandler's flat-top construction is super fun for powder, but the lack of camber and the shortness of the tail means you gotta work a little more for your ollies. haha

As you already said, it's also my understanding that the Pow Wrench is the successor to the Panhandler.

If anyone has ridden both the Panhandler and Pow Wrench, I'd be interested in hearing their feedback/comparison. Fish too, really. All seem to be in the same vein, in my limited understanding.

If you're wanting camber in a similar package, I think that's where the Skeleton Key comes in... I haven't ridden that one either tho.

I haven't ridden a Panhandler but I own a Pow Wrench in 148 and a Skeleton Key in 154, I have a size 9 boot and I'm about 170 so a wee bit heavy for the PW I think but the SK is my favorite board ever. I ride in the PNW and ride a lot of soft snow and trees and they both turn on a dime, the PW is actually very poppy for such a short board but the SK is a daily driver for me even though most people would find it too soft and the lack of tail may be off putting.

powwrench is prob the more versatile of the 3
