is AK really that good? i have always jused used their clearance stuff id find at the oulet for 70% off and its done well and it is still holding up so i never bothered to spend hundreds on their AK gear.. seems like overpriced crap to me although i am thinking my next jacket will be the ak swash since the other alternatives arent too great.. either arcteryx and or something and i dont want to be a brand retard advertising for free.. so is the AK actually worth it...? i never liked the material it feels strange
if you're using it for resort riding, it might be overkill (and overpriced) but for heli or touring, it's really at the top. Burton also has a great warranty on their AK stuff

All great brands as well; at that point in becomes a subjective discussion of fit, material, needs and stylebootsmania wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 10:05 amwhat about arcteryx, spyder, and all that other jazz people jizz all over for?oar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 9:44 amMore R&D than almost any other company combined with larger manufacturing resources as well as time in marketbootsmania wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 9:41 am

Yep... features, fit (best jacket fit in the biz), style (love exposed zippers and solid colors), durability, a great warranty, and made by a snowboard company. I pretty much exclusively ride AK and 686.
Re: Hardgoods 24/25
Designed and tested for backcountry use, so you're looking at the durability of the fabric, how well it breathes (since you'll be generating a lot of heat), and how light it is since you will be also packing it down. Burton AK will almost always use whatever is the best available fabric GoreTex offers available. There's a huge difference between the outerwear you have at a resort versus in the backcountry, esp if you are camping overnight, etc. If something goes wrong with your jacket/pants at a resort, you can always go back inside the lodge to your car, etc... out in the remote mountains, different story.bootsmania wrote: what is the reasoning behind it being the best for such occasions?
what about arcteryx, spyder, and all that other jazz people jizz all over for?
arcteryx is good, so is Patagonia, I can't speak for the other brands (Spyder, volcom), but the former backup their outerwear with a lifetime warranty

So real talk I’m pretty sure bootsmania is a burner account of someone fucking around. Conspiracy theorist in me wants to say it’s Doc shitposting without risking a ban and calling people mentally handicapped over fucking nothing.
Re: Hardgoods 24/25
Jealous, quite the crew you guys had. I’m gonna be in Nelson for 4-6 weeks next year I need to book a couple days out.
Re: Hardgoods 24/25
I feel like Doc would have an opinion on AK tho. He was a B guy, right?

I thought it was an interesting board at first glance (when we saw the next season's model) waiting for a B evolution towards some new short and wide board
On the other hand I am always waiting for B to improve flying V
C2 & purepop/vans infuse/skate tech/ AK …
