Interestingly has zero compatibility with Burton boards. Something unthinkable in days of yore.
That's Endeavor erasure, and I will not stand for it! 😝

C.Fuzzy wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 1:55 pm But then again they have step ons too.

Is this just an IP race? I'll license yours for the same price you license mine?

Or was step ons just eating everyone's lunch?
I'm thinking this is part of why they licensed the Step On system from Burton. If they're trying to make this their "new normal", they're going to need an option to cater to the huge Burton market segment.

We'll see if these catch on, but as long as it's the same 4x2 insert pattern, I don't see Burton licensing this to replace the ReFlex versions, unless it really makes a huge difference in performance and/or product cost.
Well it's also nidecker with fase and supermatic.... and their increasing tentacles into brands.

The Binding, which had very little real change for 25 years... has a tech shake up of sorts.

Seems that players are really trying to have something new to offer all of a sudden. carve out their niche with staggering compatibility?

Interesting to me considering the majority of folks seem almost antagonistic to the idea that the traditional binding can be improved upon... outside of minor tweaks n such.

Idk.

Waaaaait a minute. Only down to -3 on the back binding? That sounds... extremely limited?

I'm a posi/posi guy most of the time, but even my "freestyle" stance is -6 on the back, lol.
I had to bring it into Photoshop to visualize just how much angle you could get out of each binding. It looks like it is not the binding for the posi/posi crowd.

I'd have to try it, but I'm skeptical-- less heelside overhang and closer to a strap banding, but instinctively feels like the worst of both worlds. Added weight and mechanical complexity, and still need to fiddle with ratchets every lap.

The one advantage I kind of see is possibly not having to "settle" into the heel cup. I max out on most mediums and most times after I initially strap in, I have to butter a bit or pop a quick ollie to fully settle into the back of the heelcup and slap a couple more clicks on the ratchet. Especially if I crank up the forward lean on the rear highback.

Same. -3 to +21 on your front foot and +3 to -21 on your back foot is how I take it.

I'm sure they can make different versions, and this is easier than EST if you don't need to change stance width.

Agreed. And you'd have to keep your toe straps pretty loose to be able to jam your boot straight in like that. I just don't see the point of more moving parts/points of failure to save 2 seconds on feeding my straps into their ladders.

Strong contender for worst graphics of 2026, but it's too early to call since we haven't seen Yes yet.
