sounds like my first experience with HitchHikers vs some Union Factories on the Voile adapters. didn't feel held back by the standard highback, but having a full stride on the HitchHikers was eye-opening.

might try these on once they land.

This was an even bigger leap from negative highbacks. I remember when I did that transition, and while it was nice and noticeable, it wasn't in the same category as the boots.

Damn yer killing me. As I mentioned a few times here (and the previous EZ) I had and loved the Vans Verse Blake Pauls a few years back but the lasting back then was such that they were way too narrow for my front foot.

Didn't someone here say some time back that some Vans got updated, wider lasting? I'd give them a shot in a second if so. Love my Burton Tourists, but anyways…

Ack… These "Vans Verse Iguchi Range Edition" don't seem to be easily available anywhere I have access to (JA and EU).

I'm using a different brand of skins that seems to leave a patch or two of goo residue on the base of my board. Is this normal with some brands or does it mean I got bad skins?

G3 Skins have had these issues for years. Not sure if that's your brand.

It can also happen if the skins were improperly stored over the summer months. High temps fuck up the glue. It's why you should never order a new set of skins in the dead of summer when they're gonna be in some 100º cargo plane or trailer.

What skins are they?

Backcountry brand. Got them off someone here a year or so ago. Possibly a G3 made. Stored them with my other skins which don't have this issue so I don't think I did it. But... is the issue present in colder temps? Do I try to do a reglue? or just bit the bullet and rebuy?

Yes, those are G3 skins. Sucks to say, but I would just toss em. I have some Montana skins that are brand new, never trimmed that I was gonna put up for sale as I didn’t end up getting the deck I had planned them for.

What length deck do you have?

I never had issues with my G3’s (spark branded), but I took care of them well, and I don’t split a ton. Still, I did notice the difference in residue even though it was never an issue. I do like my Kohla’s that much more.

Need a little more snow, but it’s almost splitting time here.

BC skins are G3
SOME G3 have glue issues (see Spencer above, and I can report my pair are still awesome, never any issues, but 1 of 2 of my skinning buddies here also got duds), so it is gamble.
If you have glue issues, and the fortitude, reglue them with the Black Diamond reglue package. Apparently works really well.

Please do not chuck that much still-usable plastic into landfill just because 🙏
