The House going under will 100% negatively impact the industry, from this dilution of the market (though we have always been guilty of that, just not quite to this extent), to brands scrambling to find new homes for our cancelled PO’s.
lots of brands had to change how they ran things after the pandemic, a few choose to send 90% of their products to our warehouses and use our FBA model vs stock their own. those companies may not be around next season if no one else steps in.
there will always be big online dogs and small core shops. it is a fact that those big onlines are also a local core to some people though. maybe they got lucky to get big online, maybe they did something extremely right. i’ve talked with other “core” shop managers about their struggles to do more online sales. but there will always be smaller brands and products you can only find at those smaller shops, that’s what keeps me stopping by places like Cal Surf or Damage, even though I work at The House.
idk what i’m really saying here. it’s been a weird week, gonna get weirder.
shoot me a message if you buy something and i’ll blow it a kiss as it goes on the Fedex truck.
The remaining selection of the on sale stuff looks kind of rough unfortunately, reckon they’ll be putting newest season burton stuff on sale eventually? Not much inventory left of good stuff it seems
Sorry to hear about the job loss man hopefully you get to enjoy some good unemployment and secure something better

Still some good volcom gore stuff. Haven't looked hard at much else. Very tempted by a couple pieces..

Those gore vans boots are tempting, same with the snow surf boots. Just have no purpose for them aside from it being a deal.
Cole, you’re a rad dude and hooked it up many times. Hoping you have an easy transition to what ever comes next.

Sorry to hear all of that, man, and good luck with the next move. A shop closing down of any kind hurts their employees as well as brands and their employees, too. Hope it all ends up working out.
I got my very first setup from there back in the day. It was a 2003ish Forum Recon 158 with some Forum bindings, 32 something or other boots, and a bright yellow and white striped puffy Special Blend Jacket that I saw Joni Malmi wear a few times. Good memories.

I scoured the site for any shiny things might want, but settled on keeping it "mellow" with a new gore kit.. longo jacket and more L pants, but in XL. Going back to true baggy. Price was way too cheap not to.
We love Cole.
