ok, so a bunch of ludicrously baggy pants/jackets wormed their way into my social feed. do i need to be concerned that i won’t be able to get pants with a reasonable amount of fabric soon?
Luckily, Burton and 686 seem to be keeping their regular fits around. Seems like most brands are just adding these overly baggy fits on top of their regular stuff.
I am glad I stocked up last season. Not only do I not want the crazy baggy, I absolutely fucking hate the new trend of cuffed pant legs on outerwear. I want my regular pant leg and a boot gaiter.
On top of that, for some reason, which as a former buyer and retailer, is befuddling to me, Burton did away with black colorways in a few of their highest end offerings. That is crazy. In high $$$ items, Black, is hands down the best seller. When people are forking out that much $$$ they generally want timeless colors that will stand the test of time. Not the newest flavor of the month, that has traditionally been reserved for the mid tier price points.

Agreed. Hopefully it all fades out soon just like skinny pants did.

That trend lasted way, way too long.

Exactly. At the peak the options for jeans were skinny or formless Costco dad jeans

It seemed short lived to me in snowboarding, but maybe that was just Colorado.

Who's asking for the elastic cuffs tho? Frfr.
Is this a consumer driven trend? Or a cost cutting measure by brands that is marketed as a trend?
Part of me wants to wear some just for the dumbness of it. Like jester beanie, Polaris jacket and baggy cuffed missy Elliot pants

i love my elastic cuffs. never have to worry about getting them out of the way of my straps/highbacks, or dragging in the dirt in the lot. don’t see myself going back to regular legs anytime soon.

also, re: no black higher end AK, is this maybe for functional reasons, like visibility in the BC?

I don’t believe so. You can have one black garment and one very bright.
