Flux Step-Ons are interesting as well, because they might solve a flaw in the system, since their baseplates/pads are more rigid, so you don’t get that much play before the binding engages.

I saw Flux also has cant pads designed to go between their step-on binding and board.

from what i’ve gathered, they’re the same baseplate with Flux’s hibacks.

Their «Footons» are supposed to be stiffer than Burtons foam. Also canting under the binding is the only way to go, else you are just getting uneven support under foot.

Can double take ratchets be swapped out for normal ones on ankle straps?

Redundantly said another way, if I get a double take replacement ankle straps, can I take off the double take ratchets and put on a normal ones?

@C.Fuzzy I think not... it’s a system designed to work together, it’s not easy to replace parts… or it’s impossible

The DT is attached by an axis to the strap and is attached to the tensioners. The normal ratchet is attached to the strap by a screw but here it doesn’t have a place to hold the screw to the strap and it can’t be attached to the axis where the strap joins the DT

Thank you x 10 ! Photos and all! That's what I thought I was seeing online in photos, but you've confirmed it.

Two version of DT ratchets + straps: the one @jota shared, and one that does have a removeable ratchet attached by a screw. I'm guessing I can. Swap this for a standard ladder B buckle

These might be specifically for the Hitchhiker. I have no idea why you would want an integrated ratchet personally.

Confirming you can swap out the DT buckle for a standard. Just pulled one off a Cartel to check.

Mine is original from the diode. I was looking and in the american and european B catalog, the bindings with DT have the same system as mine. Your DT catches my attention but I see in the photo that the tensioner is also different...

how did you get this strap?
