I have a Patagonia nano puff but no hood. my fav insulating layer. Has two interior chest pockets. It's great. Super packable. Surprisingly warm.

looks like the new ones only have one chest but zippered pocket that turns it into a stuff sack too, much better than what I have

I've tried ski/outdoor brands, but the fit isn't there for me like it is with snowboard brands. Synthetic is cool for cost savings, a more durable material would be nice as the super light packable stuff doesn't last as long, and I prefer having a chest pocket, but not a must. I use these for my casual winter jacket. Very, very rarely need to wear one while riding

Got a Helly Hansen puffy that's very light, warm, and compacts a lot. Mine has a tighter fit, because I use it as a mid-layer, but if you like the fit in a bigger size, I can recommend it based on performance. No chest pocket, though.

I found a new hoodless puff puff give for $50
Recently picked up a clearance deal on last year's with the hood that I'll use for colder days, but wear the hoodless ones pretty much every day all winter.
Shoot, I'd happily wear Gerry insulators from costco if they didn't fit so terribly.

I really like my AK Baker, but it feels too nice to wear as a mid layer.. so I still rock my Homeschool one when needed. I’ve had that thing for like 6-7 years, still kicking.

AK Baker works for me. I’m in it most days from October to March, on or off the hill. Pit zips are so nice to have. Overpriced like all AK but usually shows up on sale somewhere.

ok, so a bunch of ludicrously baggy pants/jackets wormed their way into my social feed. do i need to be concerned that i won’t be able to get pants with a reasonable amount of fabric soon?

Luckily, Burton and 686 seem to be keeping their regular fits around. Seems like most brands are just adding these overly baggy fits on top of their regular stuff.
