I am back on Pata this coming season after picking up a Powslayer jacket on sale. First Pata snow gear in a while for me - last piece I had was a pair of Powslayer bibs that I loved but that started to fall apart surprisingly quickly.

I'm still on the fence. Does the fit (bagginess) seem bigger too? Like, is this essentially just baggy men's sizing? Found a good deal from Canada, but not returnable. I'm shooting for more baggy in the same sizing, coming from large L pants

I've been running powslayer bibs for five seasons. I ride hard and through a lot of trees so I've been through three pairs... But Patagonia always gives me store credit for them (they weren't repairable) and I just swap for another...

Did you not know about their warranty? I love these bibs.

After two Patty Down Sweater Hoodies leaking feathers profusely and having their baffle stitching unravel, I’ve switched over to the Mountain Hardwear Stretchdown Hoody and the quality is way better. Better fit, way more durable fabric, welded baffles, and no feather leaks after two years. Gonna stick with MH for my down and rain jackets.

Yes, aware of the warranty. But a PITA to utilize being based in Asia. Main issue with mine (5-6 years ago) was significant wear and small cuts at the pant bottom (including the instep protection material) - and that was before I got into splitting. I found somebody who bought them off me second-hand and I switched to an Arc Stinger, which was my favorite pair of bibs ever (rugged materials, lightweight, almost perfect pockets, good cut, etc.) until they started to delaminate last season.

The sizing is the same as other mens pants in the waist but that particular model is baggier than L Gore. The bagginess is at least on a par with the Longo pant, possibly a little looser. Also not 'articulated' where they do that thing behind the knee that turns them into flares. AK pants have this too.
It seems the unisex sizing is just mens sizes in the actual clothing but they shift the chart a bit to make it work better for everyone.

the L Gore pant is the stupidest fitting pant in history IMO.

The thing I don't like about a lot of their pants is the way-overbuilt inner thigh vents/zips. They're stiff. Holden had it right with the mini "hidden" zipper that moved well

Anyone have a favorite insulator w/o hood? I've had a couple Volcom puff puff give, and Burton evergreen, both of which I really like. Trying to look into other options so I have a better chance of finding good deals, as all these things seem overpriced for what they are...

I've tried ski/outdoor brands, but the fit isn't there for me like it is with snowboard brands. Synthetic is cool for cost savings, a more durable material would be nice as the super light packable stuff doesn't last as long, and I prefer having a chest pocket, but not a must. I use these for my casual winter jacket. Very, very rarely need to wear one while riding

I got a Patagucci nano air a couple sizes big on sale, it has a hood, but I use it on the outside mostly. The fabric is nice and thin, warm and not clammy, so that gets all the snowflakes from me (on sale).
