Best boot I've ever had was a proto 2014 pair. Not really different than production, just had a different outer material. The plastic-like panels with full articulating cuff were key. Lasted forever, comfy every day, etc. The one thing for me is they're not stiff enough, even with my tongue stiffeners, so I went to the ion - but that's simply preference. Price is also a lot to swallow, but if you get a good deal, great boot.

Did ya’ll see the liquidation sale over at the house? I’m surprised that they’re going to be going out of business it seems? Does anybody else have more information on this

From the Capita 23/24 catalog, no Scott Stevens Pro in their freestyle lineup? Can't imagine they'd drop his pro model so I guess they're holding out on us with that one...

Back in November, Peter (Amplid) sent me a (162) proto of next year's new model, the "Soul Mate." It's mainly a shape proto, so the construction, and all that that contributes to the ride, probably aren't the same as production, but… that would be a shame because… it's basically displaced all my other "daily drivers". Yesterday I started the day on it, then thought I'd pull out my fav of faves, the YES PYL (160W) and I immediately regretted it.
Not gonna wax poetic because again it's a proto build and I have no idea how the production will be, but it's just been so much fun.
One of the biggest shocks is how goddamn fast the extruded base has been. And that without any real maintenance.
Not really representative but you can see it in action here:
I'm supposed to send it back to him but not sure I can get myself to heh

looks like they have a new owen helmet which is a feature rich ledge (fidlock, spherical mips, adjustable venting). looking to get either the method or contour goggle next yr. side note: i wish they made a cylindircal lense for the contour.

Some insane deals over there. Bummed if they're going out of business, been a staple of my online snowboard shopping since the Sierra days.

an official announcement is probably coming early next week, along with steeper discounts, too.
some folks are holding out hope someone will swoop in to buy the business, i think it may be better to start something new rather than hang on to the past. we’ll see what the next few months bring.
