What’s up with no EST step on’s?
They only did two small mine77 of those thus far

Might be because of the fact that they don’t really have a solution for the width issue yet. They do small batches because it’s kind of a niche B-fan product. Most people who like step on are fine with reflex.Almightymaniac wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 4:40 am What’s up with no EST step on’s?

Re: Hardgoods 23/24
Our rep said (last year) the main issue with small and large step on ESTs is that they flex too much and end up popping the toe cleats. Didn’t elaborate past that

Any of you guys ever ride the SLX boot? What’s your thoughts on it? I like medium flex but a little stiffness won’t be bad. Mainly do a mix of all mountain, mostly piste, then park, and then off piste in that varying quantity
Re: Hardgoods 23/24
I rode them a while back (black and highlighter green ones). Supportive but not overly stiff, maybe like a 6.5 out of 10 both laterally and toe to heel, in my opinion. Very comfortable, nice roomy toe box, a bit too much space in the heel (that is all burtons for me). Overall nice but not mind blowing. I got a great deal on them but would never had paid sticker.

If you don’t mind me asking how much % off did you snag them for? I am contemplating if 20% off will make it worth it or if I should see if they’ll go even more off.
My only other boot I’m considering is the swath but I’d rather pay a little more for the SLX at this point
Re: Hardgoods 23/24
I love the SLX. Been using them at least the past 10+ years, getting the newer model every 2-3 years. Amazing boot, checks all the boxes for me: Articulating cuff, smooth flex, supportive but not stiff, breaks down slowly, speedzone, super solid liner. The only downside is that every other boot Ive tried since then, in order to spend less on boots, sucks by comparison. I agree with the heel fit comment, but I throw in some of the Burton J-bar heel pads and get a super snug fit with zero heel lift. Swath is way too soft for my liking and the liner doesnt even compare.Almightymaniac wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 10:57 amAwesome!Msteff wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 10:24 am I rode them a while back (black and highlighter green ones). Re: Hardgoods 23/24
I got them from a shop on the last weekend they were open so I got something insane like 75% off.
Re: Hardgoods 23/24
For me the SLX is an amazing boot. I agree with all the above comments, use jbars and a heel wedge under the liner if you get any heel lift. Just don’t pay full price if you can!
