It annoys me that I'm even posting this. I don't know why I bother to watch this guy, but angry's new review of the updated transition finder is hard to wrap my head around. He starts by saying it's been years since he's ridden one, and then goes on to make comparisons, listing the exact opposite of reality. It's softer in general, it's softer torsionally, it's less damp, it's less stabile, it doesn't carve as well, it's more loose… some of that could have to do with technique, but most of it is measurably incorrect. We know he's not a great rider, which is fine - until his ego comes in to play. But even when he does ride a board, you know he's not spending much time on them. And in some cases, like this, I don't think he even rode it. The truth is, to do the reviews he does, he doesn't need to. It's an easy formula.
The famous skateboard coffee crash (Garrett Hill) was recently debunked as fake, yet the dude has been milking it for years, and still won't admit it. Who cares, but that's funny. I'm waiting for the day when this happens to angry. Who wants to take a trip to Colorado?
Look at me, I'm a 36 y/o bum complaining about a YouTube reviewer because he's wrong about a board I like

I've been getting the same vibe from him lately. Wouldn't be surprised if he's only taking these boards out for a single lap, if that. Every review he does now is the same formula and basically the same conclusion, with a few variations on things that would be hard to disprove because of how he qualifies them. Dude's a fraud. And his new sidekick contradicts him all the time.
Your points about his TF review seem really similar to his '25 Sick Stick review. He essentially says it's a noodly, chattery, niche powder board that's horrible now compared to the old one. Everyone else says it's much improved, damper, and really versatile. TJ picked it as one of his top 5 AM boards of the season and then shows him ripping it everywhere, so I'm not sure what Angry has to offer with his current formula of "just trust me bro".

I vote we do a social experiment, like "birds aren't real," but with snowboard reviews. Never ride anything we review, virtually say the same things about everything, no proof we've ever seen snow, and tell you to fuck off if you question it. Test his formula to the next level.
In my recent quest to find proof of angry riding, I came across several comments which suggested TJ is bogus because he's positive in general, and not often critical. Yet the dude is leagues better on a board, clearly does multiple laps at least, shows his riding every time, no ego vibe, and his feedback is more individual for each product. No doubt, angry's following behaves as a cult. I just find it all interesting.

Agreed. "He doesn't need to show his riding" is like a ritual chant for acceptance into the cult.

Regarding TJ vs James at TGR vs Angry or any of the other dudes on YouTube, the proof is in the video. So yeah, as far as Angry goes and any of his reviews, okay brah....
I'm not saying that anyone needs to be a superpro to do a review, but posting video at least shows that they rode the fucking thing, and that they've progressed beyond falling leaf turns.
TL:DR If there's no video, you're bullshit.

And what a strange sentiment. It should go without saying - it's reasonable to suggest that someone who reviews countless products & has a large following should be able to show they have an "acceptable" level of competence using said products, especially when there's ego involved. Or, at least be forthcoming with your abilities. There should be a transparent reference point for where the person is coming from.
It seems like a lot of his following doesn't understand that concept. There's nothing wrong with not being very skilled, but if you're "not that good," how are you really going to break down all these nuances over such a broad range of varied product? And then he just says the same thing every time? Trips me out that it's not obvious to more people
don't you dare talk shit about my snowboard

And I don't think one needs to show themselves using every single product, but there should be an available baseline for how they ride, rather than someone who actively hides. To my knowledge, there are two videos with any footage of angry, and... well, you know.
If those available clips don't accurately represent him, think how easy it would be to show otherwise, just once. Just once! But he refuses.

I definitely don't follow him, but I see those sometimes, and I can't disagree.
I posted this last night, but apparently I deleted it. Now I'm going to post it again. Was talking to Lars as usual, and he hadn't seen the video. Couple minutes later he sends me this (notice the background)

Haha
At least James for the good ride actually rides the boards!
