You’ll be happy with it, it’s really well thought out. The chapstick pocket is a life saver haha.

Re: OUTERWEAR
My buddy has the Melancon in XL and they are pretty huge. Noticeably bigger in the waist than my large Longo and L Gore pants. I'd say the label sizing is in line with other models.

Re: OUTERWEAR
I looked at this as well when searching volcom's site. I wonder why they stopped doing the lycra storm cuffs/wrist gaiters across the board on their jackets? Also they've been pushing the detachable hood feature.Spenser wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 12:31 pmThanks, that's helpful. Sounds like I would be good in large.

I like the wrist gaiters on the longo jacket without thumb holes.
I don't necessarily mind a detachable hood, but the hood on the longo kind of sucks. It has a big floppy brim that sticks out a ways past the cinch, and the hood isn't exactly small... so if you want it to stay on, you end up looking like this

Re: OUTERWEAR
I really wanted to like the Longo Jacket but the hood was a deal breaker. I found a Longo anorak new for €50 and couldn't say no. The hood, although not exactly 'tech', is far superior to the zip-off one on the jacket. It feels great like a big soft hoody. It will be an experiment to see if I can wear a 10k anorak all season without succumbing to exposure or losing everything I own due to lack of pockets.
Re: OUTERWEAR
I only wear my hood on the lift on stormy/wet days anyway, so it's whatever. I'd fully pay for a normal hood to swap in, if they made it.
It's really not that bad, I just don't know how they landed on this design

I hear ya. The "pilgrim bonnet" was a tough part of my childhood...eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 3:41 pmBecause we’re in a “make everything look as 90s as possible at all costs, including function” holding pattern with outerwear right now.
I've considered altering, just can't care enough.
