I just can't get through the nonsense that for instance K2 and thus by association Ride aren't snowboard brands cause K2 makes skis. Somehow making snowboards for 37 years doesn't qualify?

Burton makes the best snowboard brand outerwear by a country mile. Volcom is a distant second.
Agreed here. I just don't jive with AK for whatever reason, so I may just be going TNF or Patagonia next year.

Ford makes electric cars? Does that make them an electric car company? No, it doesn't. They are a car company that happens to make some eclectic cars.
K2 is and always has been a ski company. They happen to make snowboards. Just like Mervin is a snowboard company that happens to make skis.
It's not too hard to understand. I don't shit on any ski companies, they have their place and rightfully so, and they contribute to snowboarding in some very large ways. But no matter how much they contribute, they are still ski companies that also got into the snowboard side. They will never be a snowboard brand. All of those brands, sell far more skis than they do snowboards. Snowboards are their secondary snow revenue stream and product line.

You're entitled to your opinion. But if the Ski side is not impacting the board side, then how the hell does it matter? Just philosophically? Which then how does that make your opinion of Ride? Started as a board brand, but now owned by Skiers. Does that de-legitimize them? Flux parent makes car parts, where does that place them in your hierarchy?

@pow_hnd not seeing the dispatch in there, i'll try to remember to keep an eye on it
It was supposed to be released this season but has been sitting in the warehouse in Ohio now for almost two months... I was told they are "waiting" on another AK product to have a multi-piece drop. I thought it was going in-line next season...

I don't know that I'd quite say it delegitimizes them, but, for me personally, it makes them a brand I have no desire to spend my money on.
No right or wrong answer, just different strokes for different folks.
