I can't recall which recent Bomb Hole it was on but some guest referenced the idea that Patagonia now refuses to make patterns on their outerwear because they don't want people to replace it simply because it has gone out of fashion. Solid colors encourage people to hold onto things for more than one or two seasons.C.Fuzzy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 8:43 amLooking at the outerwear and had this thought, color block and camo have been strong now for...like... a long ass time now. It makes me think that companies use both of these for cost savings. It's really rare to see custom prints anymore. Like in the early mid 2000's there was a lot of custom prints, space prints and neon prints and those matching jacket pant designs with robots and skeletons and just a lot of unique shit. Now it single colors, color block and the only print is camo. I expect it's because camo fabrics are more stock bc they're used in so many other clothing products. I expect things like cool prints and designs eat into margins and I wonder if we'll ever see that stuff en mass again.unsuspected wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:21 pm https://www.murasaki.co.jp/brand/rideli ... f075852d8b

I'll accept that from them, but I don't think that's the goal of the outerwear industry as a whole. I think the majority goal is still to have as much sell though and highest margins as possible.jhamlett wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 9:59 amI can't recall which recent Bomb Hole it was on but some guest referenced the idea that Patagonia now refuses to make patterns on their outerwear because they don't want people to replace it simply because it has gone out of fashion. Oh praise be to Patagonia, they truly know what's best for us. They are the light, the way.jhamlett wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 9:59 am I can't recall which recent Bomb Hole it was on but some guest referenced the idea that Patagonia now refuses to make patterns on their outerwear because they don't want people to replace it simply because it has gone out of fashion.
