@pow_hnd thoughts on your transcends so far? Anything to note (differences) from when they were the T-rice? Remind us why these are such good performers for you?

My pair will be here soon. Hope I wasn't just tripping in the shop, and they still feel as good upon arrival. At least I scored them from that mega friends/family sale if they don't work out.

Same boat! For $160 I can keep my expectations in check haha. They'll be here tomorrow.

So I haven’t actually ridden them, and probably won’t for quite a while. I actually just bought them to stock up in case DC drops their snow program. I have a pair of Transcends and last years T-Rice as back ups. Very well could buy one more set as well. The Blackout color way this year is my preferred color. Just Balck.

BUT, they are the same boot as the T-Rice, except for the sole, which is better as it’s a Vibram sole.

For me, personally, the boots rock. I find the stitched, non heat moldable liners to be far more comfortable than the majority of other boots/liners on the market. Also, boot fitting is very easy with the liners.

The flex is a solid 6, maybe 7, on a 1-10 scale of boots on the market. They aren’t soft, but they sure aren’t crazy stiff either. I like my boots to have good lateral/medial flex, and as any skilled boot fitter will tell you, crazy stiff boots are always the hardest to fit, and the softest boots are the easiest to fit, so this middle of the road makes them easy for me to get my fit right. I absolutely love the storm flap. Only thing I’m disappointed in is they dropped the gaiter hook, don’t know why as if probably only added .50¢ in production costs to the boots and they aren’t paying royalties on the boot anymore.

Anywho, my favorite boot ever. Which is why I’m stocking up.

Instead of going riding last Monday I went to the two shops that should have had the biggest selection of boots in my size (8.5 or 9) and came away a bit disappointed with the selection. The first dude was trying to get me to size down more than I was comfortable with and Evo was a zoo at 11am on a Monday morning with only 2 boots to try on.
The Nitro Select felt pretty good but stiffer than I want and that TLS is meh
The Nitro Team felt cheap
The Infuse felt weird with the laces stopping below the power strap and were a half size small
The Burton Photon felt like it may work but they didn't have a 9
The TM-2 felt like home, seems like I should just keep an eye out for a deal and swap my old liners in

Maybe I need to get over my fear of BOA......

Yeah it was the Friends and Family sale for the Boardriders brands that I posted in the deals thread. Everything was 60% off without any code or account needed. DC Ply was $150, new Billabong wetsuit was $90, Transcends for $160, Quik gore jackets for $120-160. Legendary sale.

Well, viewing this thread, I looked at my T-Rice VS. Transcend and see why the gaiter clip is gone...

Love the boots so much, I just tracked down a pair of last years T-Rice in my size and black and ordered them...

So now two pairs of T-rice backups and a set of Transcends. I don't go through boots that quickly, maybe due to being lightish, but feel I'm probably good now for 15 years in my boot game...

Finally got a few days in with the Verse Range. Practically zero break-in, perfect fit, perfect forward flex without using the stiffeners. Drop cuff is super comfy on the calves. No highback bite whatsoever. Medial/lateral stiffness is exactly where I want it. Using the Iguchi Remind insoles, rather than my custom Sidas footbeds.

We'll see how they hold up over time, but easily the best initial experience I've had ever had with a boot. God, I hope they don't break down prematurely.

If mine end up not fitting you can snag them, too haha.
