Re: The boot thread
Think I finally found my Adidas replacements (although, I haven't gotten them on the snow yet obviously). So many crazy sales right now, so I snagged the redesigned 23/24 Salomon Dialogue Boas in 10.5 (which was my Adidas size) and they fit great. They have SO much room in the toes while still maintaining a (mostly) smaller footprint than my size 11 Burton Imperials. I tried the 11s on last season and they were way too big, but 10.5 feels great and I could maybe even go down to a 10. There's just that much room in the toes (which is crazy because they're not the wide version). They're also super easy getting in and out of. @kimchi you gotta try these on.
Some pics with my Imperials for reference. When sized correctly, the outer profile of the boot is slightly shorter heel-to-toe, narrower in the heel/ankle/arch, wider up front (but way sleeker on the y axis), and feels lighter than the Imperials. Overall, I'm really impressed with the fit and now I just gotta ride them.
Edit: the factory insoles in these are crazy thick. I replaced them with my Reminds and now they have even more room up front. Definitely stoked on these.

Re: The boot thread
The toe box on those Salomons looks really similar to Adidas from above. A question for the Adidas diehards: is there a difference in fit between the Tactical and the Acerra? I'm particularly interested in the pressure on top of the foot that is an issue with the Tactical. Is that the same with the Acerra? Loved the Tacticals for all the obvious reasons but that instep crush was intense.

Re: The boot thread
I had both for several years and the instep felt exactly the same to me. The only difference I felt between them in fit was in the heel area.Kevington wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 4:34 am The toe box on those Salomons looks really similar to Adidas from above. Re: The boot thread
Thanks. How did they differ in the heel?

Re: The boot thread
Hard to explain, but I would always have the worst pain on the bottom of my heels after riding all day in the Tacticals. I could never get my heels locked down, it might have something to do with the extremely rigid spine going down the back of them. Never had that problem with my Acerras (and they didn't have that same spine).
Re: The boot thread
would you mind taking out the liners and take a photo comparing the shape from above?
im thinking i might try the one with lace and boa, crank down the heel and then barely lace them.
riding sorrells for last few years and geting used to no support is a problem when its time for new boots xD

Re: The boot thread
Between my Burtons and Dialogues? Here you go. Not only is the Dialogue liner wider in the toes, it's longer in a size 10.5 than the Burton 11 despite the shell being slightly shorter. Must be one of the reasons for the great fit!MarkusM wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 8:49 am would you mind taking out the liners and take a photo comparing the shape from above?

Re: The boot thread
No problem! Are you in the States? I got mine from Al's for $200 and that was the cheapest I could find them anywhere if they have your size.
Oh, another thing to note is flex. They're probably around a 6/10, definitely not as stiff as my Acerras.

Re: The boot thread
Salomon Dialogue were my first boots that fitted me good, it was a really good boot for all mountain riding (I still have them, but I don't ride them anymore, they are now too soft).
Then I switched to the Hi-Fi (current boots), and I bought also a Lo-Fi (it's a little bit wider in the toe box, which I like). I never rode so far with lo-fi, but they have the boa tech to keep the ankle in place.
Too bad they don't make anymore an high end boot around 6/7 in stiffness/response, the old Synapse (and the current replacement, I suppose) were definitely too stiff and responsive for my likings.
But the new Dialogue incarnation should be the closest replacement for HiFi/LoFi boots in response, and should be more rugged than the older version, for my understanding
