Woman large are the same as men medium if you want last season black ones.Kevington wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:17 am Anyone want to swap a 159 Aeronaut (either season) for my 2024 157?
Also, is anyone running Ultras a la Arthur on their Aero? @Jean77 put up a sweet link in the deals thread and I might cop.

Like exactly the same in flex? If so this is interesting. My only concern is the Ultra highback being too soft so it would be easy to find some black ones to replace them.unsuspected wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 2:55 pmWoman large are the same as men medium if you want last season black ones.Kevington wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:17 am Anyone want to swap a 159 Aeronaut (either season) for my 2024 157?

Aeronaut binding choice re: Evan, the lad I film often. He had ultras on it for a good while. Recently started riding the '25 59 over the '24 55. He says 5'8 160lb IIRC. I think the size change is part of his progression in jumping.
"I was [riding ultras] for a while but I switched to the falcors a little bit ago. I like both a lot, but for bigger kickers it’s nice to have the stiffness of the falcors. On my 155 I would run the ultras since the board is softer so it’s a more playful setup. I notice a big difference trying to do butters on the groomers, the ultras make it a lot easier to lean"

Pretty sure the women's version has a shorter highback as well.Kevington wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 11:27 pm Like exactly the same in flex? If so this is interesting. My only concern is the Ultra highback being too soft so it would be easy to find some black ones to replace them.

Hello Jakub,
Thanks for reaching out.
No, there is no difference in flex or dimensions between the Women's L and Men's M Union Ultra. The only difference is sizing scale and colorways

I replaced the Ultra highback with Strata due to the 6 degree forward lean on Ultras. Doesn't work very well with Adidas which are straight.

Thinking about Capita edge angles. I know they come from the factory at 1.5/1.5 which is a bit loose for my tastes. The lack of immediate bite is noticeable. Obviously it has it's benefits in other ways but I find it opens a period where it feels sketchy or can slip out before the edge gets fully engaged. Generally my preference is 1/0.5 and I was wondering if anyone had changed their edge angles and if so, noticed an improvement in grip?
Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
I changed mine to 1.0 base/2.0 side edges and it made a huge difference on my Aero in our typical mid-winter condtions here in the eastern U.S.

Thanks. I'll give it a go.SJF_NH wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 11:43 am I changed mine to 1.0 base/2.0 side edges and it made a huge difference on my Aero in our typical mid-winter condtions here in the eastern U.S.
Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
Interesting. I find my Aero 161 rides bigger than nominal size. I typically run 163+, but the Aero has a lot of effective edge packed into the shape. Most my other boards have around 122-124 cm of edge, the Aero has 126 in a shorter package. I definitely get bounced around a bit more, but I feel stable enough at speed and can hold my edge well enough in good snow.Kevington wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 3:41 am Got some time on the Aeronaut.

The 157 felt a bit small for me. When trying to carve hard I could lose the edge quite easily. But thats not what it's for. Staying light on your feet and bouncing around the mountain is what its all about and it does it very well.
Multiple positive comparisons in this thread confirm at some point I need to try a Banked Country. The standard is a little too narrow, the wide is a bit too wide, but that board's been on my radar since they replaced the Billy Goat (which I demoed and enjoyed).
Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
I think having the Banked as my default this season made the Aeronaut feel mellow in comparison. I didn’t find it stiff at all. I think camber is often confused with stiffness, particularly as most boards now have some rocker in the profile. When people get on a full camber board it feels stiff because the ends of the board are not pre-bent upwards like on a board with rocker in the tips. The board itself is not actually thicker hence Capita’s 6/10 flex rating.kimchi wrote: Mon Apr 14, 2025 2:38 pmInteresting. I find my Aero 161 rides bigger than nominal size. I need to change the edge angles on the Aero to get the grip I want then I think the 157 should work fine for me. That persistent itch that the 159 might just maybe work better might need to be scratched next season though.
Speaking of long EEs, I did see a used Supernova 162 for crazy cheap. Loved that board when I demoed the 156 a few years back. All black base too. The Aeronaut seems to be based on it.
