Anyone here tried out the any of the Nidecker boots since their overhaul a few years ago?
Specifically looking for input on the Kita Hybrid. Currently on the Ride Fuse and feel like the Kita Hybrid could be a slightly stiffer version of the Fuse (exactly what I'm looking for) since there is no articulated cuff. Also, curious on fit. Since Burton's former designer took over Nidecker's boot line, I am guessing these may have a comparable fit to Burton.
My Rifts have exploded after 20 days. I'm taking them to the shop on monday to try to warranty them. The stitching round the front section has completely detached from the rest of the boot, including the tongue. I can see its a design flaw, when you flex forward the side panels are pushed under the toe box, it was only a matter of time before the seams failed. I'm hopeful for a warranty as I'm probably not the only person this has happened to. It's year one of the boot so I'd guess they will change the design in coming years but overall it doesn't inspire me with confidence about the other models.
Also one of the side BOAs broke off. Luckily it was for the bottom section of the boot so I could still ride OK. This was my first Boa boot and will 100% be my last, although thats nothing to do with Nidecker specifically. Maybe it was just me being clumsy and banging it on a rock, maybe it's not a great idea to have an essential part of the boot made of fragile plastic and hanging off the side? I guess we'll never know.
I rode Ride Fuse before trying the Nideckers and I would say they are way better built and the Intuition wrap liner is the best I have ever used. I would like to try a current pair as they keep changing the internal boa harness thing and I couldn't wear them due to hard plastic bits near my ankles.
Anyone have experience with Vans recently, particularly the Hi-Country? Looks like the Infuse minus the boa.

Well, that throws a wrench into my future boot plans.
I've been riding the Deeluxe Areth Rin this season and they are really the bomb! Quality is good, still holding up, like how flexy they are. Finally Found a boot that's good for me feet. Also they are not that heavy! Compared to Vans and Nitro they are much lighter in weight. Will buy the X plorer next season as they are stiffer but still flexible

After struggling with my TM2 XLTs this season I am hoping to pick a pair of the Hi Country up, they felt great in the shop. I only found a 9US to try on and it was too comfy so I need to find an 8.5 and try them, my TM2s are all a US9.

Looks like the APS version has resolved the problem for next year. The regular model is the same as this year.

Yeah, looks like they fixed it with the APX. Still makes me question their durability as a whole, though.

@Kevington I had the first year hi countries, I liked them a lot but had to add some foam (C shape wrap around ankle) to help with heel hold. Year after I made the switch to the Infuse and I have zero complaints. Boots feel identical aside from more heel lock with the side boa. If the hi country fits your foot accordingly, it’s a great non-boa boot. Once broken in they’re like a 6/10 on the flex scale in my opinion (without tongue stiffeners).
we've seen a handful of the Altai boots come out of the box without the lower BOA fully laced through, definitely some growing pains with the Nidecker boots this year.

been alternating between the AREth Rin and some Vans Hi-Standard Pro's the last few seasons. love the AREth for most days, and I'll go to the Vans if I want a little more support.
my only complaints are that I wish they had a sewn-in heel harness, and the lace hooks seems to really chew up laces.
