Missing the cod piece. Always room for improvement.

In Tromso Norway for a couple days and dropped into a Norrøna store to try on a few hard shells. Seen a few pieces but limited selection and sizes. Tried on the Lofoten shell.

That stuff is expensive but really well built with a lot of thoughtful design details. Little stuff like slanted cuffs, longer cut in the back, big chest pockets for skins.

Love that also focus on simple bright colors. I get annoyed how subdued a lot of outerwear is these days, particularly stuff designed for backcountry. I want to be borderline high-vis in the trees or dealing with white outs.

The fit is super Euro slim though. Large fits me perfect in shoulders, chest, and sleeves, but tight around the hips and badadonkadonk. XL I’m swimming in the upper and just barely enough clearance in the seat. Great fit if you’re tall and slim.

Norrøna stuff is super nice, my buddy loves his jacket from them. he's a built guy at 6'2 and likes the fit, i wonder which jacket it is.

i'm out in crested butte for the week and a few shops are having some big sales... tempted to try one of these north face shells, love some of the designs and patterns they have.

i also dig the bright colors and hi-viz stuff, as someone who has worn grey/black/camo for years lol.

i tried on a few airblaster pieces recently, but didn't fit me right exactly. i would love to rock their gear.

in other news, my 686 dispatch bibs have held up fantastically since purchase. they've had several touring days and i seem to be very hard on my equipment. no sled days on them yet but will put that to the test soon.

I’ve spent this season in an AB beast jacket and it’s been OK, biggest gripe is the cuffs don’t play well with gloves or mittens. Plus you get a wicked jacket flap at speed from the weird back.

My Volcom L jacket is always my barometer, that jacket is great for a simple 2L, I only really changed for a more visible jacket so my family can find me on the hill and my buddy can see me in the trees.

What makes the back weird? I've never seen one in the wild.
