CR 59 rules. Wow. Smooth, powerful, calm. Has a more meaty feel than either TF. Great freeride board.

Given that this floats super well & basically has the same nose & body, but should be a little stiffer, I think a pencil 64 would be redundant for me, although fun. Or maybe the pencil is a combination of the fun feeling I like from the OG TF, and the pow oriented shape I like from the CR.

What wasn't fully wrapped? The corners of the tail on this CR are edgeless - sharp bend to make. The rest of the board has an edge.

I had a Dart that was made at Nobile in 2021 and it had the same small edge gap at the sharp corner on the tail. I think the really old ones are like Mervin boards with no edge at all at the tips.

Hrm. Maybe mine wasn’t pre-Nobile. I thought they’d moved to full-wrap edges after the first factory, but my CR was same as Spenser described. Full wrap through ~270 degrees, no edge in tail starting past the contact blends. It had maybe 1-2 mm gap between metal and ptex on each side which was a little annoying.

In that case maybe I just didn’t like the CR lol. Much less cambered than TF / Stealth and less reactive feeling. Predictable and calm, but boring and REALLY wide (278 mm on the 164). I bought the Stealth a few months later and sold the CR immediately.

my CR must have been very first gen, no edge at all (Mervin-style) past the tail contact point.

My 59 CR has the same edge profile as Spencers

Take it back, mine was also none past the tail contact point so probably pre-Nobile. Basically 270 degrees wrap like I said, not 350 degree like Spenser’s.
