Similar shape to the Volcom articulated pant I've been running for a few years, but not nearly as drastic taper in and out of the knee.

At 5' 9.5", 155lb My initial size reaction stands true to the jacket; medium runs on the small side, most notably in width at the hips and torso. The length is good, but even with my lightest layers, any bending feels pretty restricted, and its a 4-way stretch. Maybe the dimensions just don't work right for my shape, I've historically liked outwear on the slimmer side, in a "true to size" medium.

Leaning toward keeping them in the large. The fabric is super comfortable, slate color is solid in person, and the slimmer cut sized up actually makes a nice silhouette IMO.
Yeah one size up in slimmer fitting stuff is the way to go IMO. Plus the jackets are usually a bit longer. I don't get this boxy short fit shit.
I'm confident the large Jacket will be the right call, if maybe a bit baggier than I usually go for. I thought both the L1 tops and bottoms are like 25% too snug for a typical medium.

Since the Turbo Red matches Korua so well I doubled down this morning on a second Ak457 Guide Jacket… should be set for 10 years hopefully.

Awesome color. I like having one piece of my outerwear sorta semi hi-vis during snow storms, clouds, fog, rain etc.

Any tips for getting the funky smell out of the chin guard on a jacket?

I just washed this jacket for the first time after riding in it all last season and the chin guard is still stanky.

You probably need something that's enzymatic. Gear Aid makes one specific for outdoor gear that I use on my wetsuits, musty tents, outerwear, etc. Works great. You can either put it in a bucket with water, or just spray it on directly. I usually soak my wetsuits in it, but put it in a spray bottle for tents and jackets.

I use this stuff on everything.

I have a pair of Volcom guide pants that are around 6 years old, I could not get the funk out of them. Washed them with Nikwax several times no luck. I said fuck it and coated the inside of the pants with this stuff, I let them hang dry for about a week and they smelled great now.
Now I use this on boot liners, gloves and outerwear.

This has been great! Really helps with the smell and keeps it fresh long after.
