Re: United Shapes
I don't know how "official" it is, and you probably see most of the same stuff I do, but he started riding the horizon last year at some point.
I wasn't aware until some of the cadet LTD stories, but sounds like he and Gray have been good friends for years
Pretty wild graphic change coming from Lib

Damn, found a topsheet bubble once I caught it in the right light. I hate to be picky, its like the size of a quarter, but I've had a topsheet pop in the past and started peeling like crazy.

Don't hesitate to contact US through the website form - doesn't hurt to ask what they thinkMuskrat wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:26 pm Damn, found a topsheet bubble once I caught it in the right light. @Spenser curious to hear how you feel the Covert falls in with the US line now that you are riding the DR and Cadet. General shape, early rise, and side cut lean Cadet... Taper, width and a little more set back lean Deep Reach. But the way it engages on snow is what the people want to know. No need for a complete deep dive, but would love to hear your initial thoughts/impressions

Yep, FSSC recommended submitting the claim and go from there. I always get weird about that for no reason, its a transactional relationship, and should be a new item.Spenser wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:45 pmDon't hesitate to contact US through the website form - doesn't hurt to ask what they thinkMuskrat wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:26 pm Damn, found a topsheet bubble once I caught it in the right light. I wonder if they'd consider sizing me up in the process, this deck just looks so small underfoot. I think its an illusion with a black trimmed white topsheet, and the short EE.

Still going to be sunny with the same groomers for a bit, so I may as well do the same testindigobc wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2025 6:42 am @Spenser curious to hear how you feel the Covert falls in with the US line now that you are riding the DR and Cadet. It's easily still more cadet than deep reach, but of course has its own "feel." Shape is simply like adding 1cm to the nose width of the cadet, which gets you the +10mm taper and +5mm waist
Re: United Shapes
Funny you mention that… I'm getting a bit of that on the cadet limited, with the white sidewalls on snow. I don't really experience it with the white boards. Coming from transition finder and deep reach widths on top of that, it looked like a narrow board I rode 10+ years ago at firstMuskrat wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:20 amthis deck just looks so small underfoot. Re: United Shapes
Funny how the eyes play tricks. The width at Nose/Waist/Tail is bigger than the 2016 '56 BSOD. Visually I'd call you crazy for saying that when they are next to each other. As well, the tail shape on the Horizon makes it look wider than the nose, but of course there is a taper.Spenser wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2025 12:41 pmFunny you mention that… I'm getting a bit of that on the cadet limited, with the white sidewalls on snow. FWIW I've been riding the Slush slasher effectively as a daily for years now (its fun in the Midwest, and lucky with powder on trips) so my brain is biased to seeing a big platform underfoot.
Re: United Shapes
Our (now former) GM, a 47 y/o skier, has been wanting to try one of my boards for carving since I posted a clip on the cheater a couple years ago. Now that he's a civilian this season, we finally made it happen.
He'd spent a bit of time on boards in the 90s, mostly hardboots, so it's been a long time. Set him up on the old cadet with a narrower stance and posi angles, since that was the best chance at tapping into his old hardboot muscle memory, and.... he was immediately flowing. Slicing pretty clean turns as fast as anyone by the end of the day. Going for round two tomorrow, and he might hop on the cheater at some point.
We did a lot of nerd talk on the chair, and it was rad seeing him put little tips into action and improve run to run.
