Wait, Burton ratchets on Jones straps?! That's kind of a game changer for me because I know my plastic Now ratchets are gonna break sooner than later. I didn't think the anti-rotation tabs would fit in the straps, but it looks like they do.

@eleveneightnate i'd recommend upgrading to the B double take rachets. Been running them on my now's for ~4 years bc they don't pop open on heavy landings

Nice! It just starts getting expensive when you factor in the Burton straps as well. Curious how
@jota retrofitted his Burton buckles to Jones straps.

I'm going to put Burton Hammockstraps on my Jones Mercury, I'm debating between standard ratchets and Doubletakes. I've had DT ratchets before and like that they don't strip... but Burton's standard ratchets are pretty darn good and significantly easier and cheaper to source in case of on-hill emergency. Damn near any shop I've ever been in will have Burton ratchets and ladders lying around in a parts bin.

^I just got a pair of mercuries too, do you suggest I try them out first with the stock straps, or are they just to insufficient?

*Edit: And if I do replace them with B straps, do I get a size smaller than my Mercury mediums?

I have the Mercury straps on my Select Pros. They're actually pretty nice and I like that you can flip them for different response. It's the buckles that suck.
