How do you Drifboarders deal with them on the decent?

I made my approach skis and due to the length I haven't found a good way to carry them when riding. I have a backpack that I stuff them in but they're just awkward, hang out the top and can hit the back of my head.

I'm really leaning toward making a split pow surfer. So if anyone knows of a sacrificial animal, lmk. I've thought about splitting a backseat driver, but I'm wondering if it'll be too soft after.

My Drift boards just strap on to my Gregory Targhee backpack. Skin to skin with a Voile strap to stop the binders flapping, only time I notice they are there is when I fall and they stick in the snow.

Wolverine Poles actually just went live... The login password is Gulo-Gulo to pre-order before they open up sales to the general public. I just ordered a set.

You could do a horisontal carry on the way down, if the trees aren’t too tight. I’ve had a few Dakine packs with that option. Otherwise, the Johan projects with Venture and Moonchild or Grassroots splits could be inspiration.

Just a normal bigger twinnish split with stomp/surfpads should work too, they will be setback enough to surf and good for splitting.

Grassroots and whoever else is involved got powsurfsplit binding gear coming up soon.

I love everything about those Wolverines… but they are essentially identical to the Jones Talons I already have… which collapse down a full 6cm shorter, have the exact same clamps, have foam grips almost as far down, and besides I like the straps (I need to ski out a long ways sometimes and after a long day they let me pull my weight down into the poles on push…). I actually got the compatible Komperdell deep snow baskets ( https://www.komperdell.com/en/Ice-Flex- ... 85-925-UNI ) which are as big as the Wolverines. They don't pack down as clean but that's not something I care about all that much either.

That said, I still lust for these Wolverines. I have a pair of last year's—which I impulse ordered and realised don't fit my context at all—sitting in a buddy's closet out in Nelson.

I can't in good conscious give any money to Jeremy Jones...

Drifts are short and wide. Long as the pack's wide enough, they're fine on the descent unless take a seat in the snow. Riding with them is annoying, but mostly because riding with a pack is annoying for me lol.

I wanna punch myself in the balls for doing this, but I am going and looking at Phantom Boots and Bindings today... The older I get, the lighter and more efficent I want my set up...

Better chance I'm wearing the hard boots than the helmet this year... But we will see
