Captians log...

They’ll put you in a better mood when you shred ‘em, so pull up a chair and talk about ‘em

First day riding at Mount Baker since 2021. Snow was tracked but soft, visibility was meh, but the mood was great. We rode all day pretty much nonstop, and it was snowing when we left, so tomorrow should be good, too!

Two of my friends decided to give the banked slalom course a try. Resulted in a pretty funny video, lol.

If the track stays good, I might give it a shot this week. Just didn't want to go for it on my first day riding this season 😅

I just returned from a couple of days at Schweitzer with the family and friends, what a great mountain! This was only my second time riding there and the snow was much better this time, so we got some lovely fast groomers on Saturday and did some exploring on Sunday with some trees and some steeper runs. Even though it was a busy holiday weekend I didn't feel like the lines were excessive and there was enough room to spread people out.

We usually go up to Whistler a couple of times a season for 2-3 days and I have to admit I love wandering around and people-watching in the village but I have had better riding at Schweitzer,

The stars aligned and I got 4 straight days of the goods in the UP. Rode like I was exorcizing a demon until the wheels absolutely fell off the train. Now back to real life.

Exactly how I felt about Schweitzer - definitely a mountain that still works well when at higher capacity.

I rode Brigthon Saturday and it was very uncrowded, like a slow weekday, the Holiday weekends are blacked out to Ikon people and the 2nd tier Brighton season pass holders, so those blocks really cut back on the crowds. We rode untracked pow till our last run at 1:30ish.

Will be in SLC for a work conference that week of March. Thinking about checking out brighton first weekend of March, and was dreading the drive from downtown to the slopes since I heard it's crazy busy nowadays.
