I'd guestimate I found EL in the 2011ish (plus or minus) era. I came for the original vintage snowboard thread. Stayed for the grape flavored paste and easy hot chicks. I turned 44 this year. Talk to y'all more than most my "friends" these days. If I ever just stop coming on here and haven't said I'm out. Odds are I'm dead.

Also hung around the og unofficial networks back in the day. Loved reading the flame wars guys would get into in the comments.

We haven't had any proper cat fights around here in a long time, and we had some doozies back in the day. I don't really miss any of that, but they were sometimes pretty entertaining. I have some insults that I've kept in my pocket to use on my riding buddies whenever a real zinger is warranted. Some pure comedy gold that I stole from all the way back in the BMB days.

One of the best ones was when some rando was asking the board if he and his buddies should take a road trip to ride Alta. Of course someone dropped a ton of shit on him about snowboarding being prohibited at Atla, and the guy finished his flame post with "How do you not know that, do you live in a fucking cave?"

The original poster responded with, "While I don't live in a cave per se, I do spend a fair amount of time in your mom's moist grotto.." :D

Oh man, I love this walk we're taking down memory lane.

I immigrated to EL from Sierrasnowboards in 2011. Didn't know this was the community I needed until I arrived and got roasted for thinking Mt High was a real mountain. Ya'll made me a better snowboarder, but also made my wallet pretty thin. Met some of my closest friends from the local meetups here. None of whom are still online, but I'm relaying new gear updates to them.

Am grateful to ya'll for bringing this latest iteration of EL back! Much more satisfying than Facebook Groups or Reddit.

I think I wandered in around 2012 or 2013, I know it was at least 4 iterations ago, it was being run by C3 at the time. Have met some good homies on here, just met up with one IRL last week to slash power at Eagle Pass. He’s not on here anymore but still dope connections.

I obviously love it enough to shell out about $1k a year to keep it going and have no intention to monetize it.

Do you have a donation link or PayPal we can pitch in to? I don’t recall if we did that on this EL or a previous one.
