I've tried a few Norrøna jackets and they are really tight around the hips. Like Arc'teryx but even tighter size for size. I'm 6' 165 and XL felt restrictive and skiery.
Horgmo is probably a small person wearing XXL.

Yeah, I gave up on the Norrona idea. Sticking with AK and 686 for the foreseeable future haha.

Torstein mentions they're working on some new stuff with more snowboarder-y movements in mind.
FWIW my Arc'teryx Rush is a more relaxed fit than AK size-for-size. I actually sold my Cyclic because it was a little too tight in the seat, my Rush gives me a touch more freedom of movement. It's cut a tiny bit higher (but not ski dad high) and doesn't taper as much through the hips.
I'm down with ice axe companies muscling in on the territory. Forces [ak], Volcom, 686 etc. to step up and just not rely on being better than 32 and DC.

100%. Now if 686 would stop putting those asym zippers on all their higher end jackets... had a Hydra with that zipper and it's annoying as hell.

I tried Patagonias shell in medium, but it was tight on hips and ass. Norrona Tamok medium fits just right.

The cut on the Haglofs jacket I just bought is similar to my Volcom guch jacket IMO. There pants though seem very alpine skier crowd , slimmer cut although I didn’t try any on just had a close up look.

Maybe it's just me, but if gear felt too restrictive, my reaction would be "this is too small," not "the cut isn't quite right."
But to be fair, I understand that some people like it fitted, closer to how casual clothing fits you "properly." If I chose outerwear based on my physical size, I'd be in medium, borderline small in some pieces, not XL.

YES! I can't stand the asym zippers. There's also one on the plain gore jacket that isn't a pocket, just opens a hole for venting. If I bought anything from them it would be the new Gigi kit.
