Sorry didn’t read your question properly! Second is Gentemstick Mantaray 156 and then sixth is Rome service Dog 57

How do you decide which boards to take out when… a lot of overlap I am seeing? —I have the same problem

if @Shredder is anything like me; bring several boards and if conditions are good then grab the same one as always that I know I'll have fun on.

If conditions are meh, I'll do the A,B,C testing back to back on boards to try and sort out the differences in how they ride. I typically give a board a couple different rides. If a new board doesn't spark more joy than the one I already love, then pretty often I'll move it along, buy something else and repeat the process.

Once in a while I hit on something that just does the damn thing and is hard to beat. Those are a keeper until something unseats them.

Typically then the keepers get used and abused until they're beat into retirement and then hang up in the rafters.

But that's just me.

ive purchased so many boards in the past 4 seasons, I think if I had the opportunity to demo from companies I liked it wouldn't be a problem, but a las, not a thing in the east coast

It would be cool to demo more boards. For sure. But sometimes a board doesn't shine in the conditions you have on that day anyhow. I'd hate to burn a really great pow day waiting to get boards to come back or get set up. Once you kind of get the idea what you like, then you're just iterating on it. If you want to step outside that, realize it's probably just for a specific use case quiver board.

I think there's a bit of 'always want what you don't have' in gear whoring and it can get in your head when really, the goal is just to have a good time swizzle swoozling around in the snow. If you're not having a good time, you're maybe buying too many boards.

Yes, it's like an obsession that attacks a very low percentage of the population, that just like the protagonist and other characters from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" all end up together on the mountain of the encounter, in this case, we all end up in EL thinking about the next board we are going to buy right after having posted the photo of our last purchase in the thread “check out my new…”

I have kind of fallen out of the habit of trying lots of new boards and turning over the quiver - in fact, I have shrunk my core quiver down to these 4 boards which have probably accounted for >90% of my riding over the last two seasons.
Ultracraft has been replaced with a Gentemstick for this year but I do not see myself making any other big changes.

Nice quiver! How's the solid pucks? Wondering if I should buy for travelling.

Solid pucks kinda dig into the topsheet laquer. Karakoram version is better, besides stacking boards on those spikes. If you have puck bindings and want to save weight, it's ok. I've traveled with a split and two solids like that.
