Bit cringey to watch because they'd be much better off on narrower, less aggressive decks... they're like a smaller, niche cluster version of Step-On Dorcas lol.
Nailed it.

I think the accessibility portrayed in the YFT edits and other snowsurf/carving videos has really popularized brands like Korua, Gentem, Moss, Dupraz, etc., or more generally, directional pow shapes and swallowtails. The lower-intermediate "person who snowboards" has something more achievable to aspire to. But talking to them in the line or on the lift, they have generally zero knowledge of the history or culture of snowboarding, nor do they care. Which is a shame, or maybe I'm just being a crusty gatekeeper. I think this has been discussed somewhere further back in the thread, or maybe in an older version of EL.

That being said however, shoutout to @GD and his crew of Asian Ontarians, who are an exception to this weird phenomenon and actually rip.
Too sweet, dude @ad1105 😘. You're part of that same crew and I can def say the same about your riding. Legit the fastest guy I know on-piste, and proper turns too, no straight lining. Bullet train fr haha.

Every once in a while the EZ buzz gets me too and TF is close enough to my Optimistic that I think I may like it. Eyes open for a 54 also.

Warning, they are special and you may sell everything else and start fiending on a quiver of the same board with different tip shapes.

A bit like NOW bindings, the ride is so particular that I found it difficult to go back and forth between Korua and other brands.

After this winter I feel like selling everything anyhow.

Beside the secret inner cool feeling of rocking the white top and red base boards, what makes the ride that much different? Construction wise it doesn't stand out as anything new or different. These coming from GP87 errr?

The particular "math" of how they do profile, flex, overall sidecut, shaping, etc

I don't think they're doing it differently in some crazy way, it just happens to come together in such a way that tickles the fancy of certain people. Just like how some people simply like the particular feel of burtons, or mervins, or moss, or stranda, or whatever

I'm 75% of the way there. My 25% holdback is that the TF in my mind is darn similar and sort of fits right in between my 2 main rides the 151 Sickstick and the 154 Optimistic. But with more setback and a slightly bigger sidecut. So in a sense I already know I'm going to like it, but it feels a wee bit redundant for the amount of riding I'm getting these days. y'all getting to me tho

Sick stick I'd not compare, but I can see the thought behind the optimistic. Put a sexy local singles ad out to see if anyone has one to lend you
