yeah, there are more and more each season.

plenty of shops carry them in stock here, Otto, TF, Pencil and CRs are what you see

I guess Ontario is east for a lot of people on EL. So yeah, I've been proudly waving the Korua Shapes flag for a while out here. Started helping run unofficial demos last season. More and more on the hill every month, it seems.

i would love to get demo's out in summit county, i have many friends who wanna try their boards and not just commit to buying a new deck without knowing its characteristics.

i've seen one transition finder so far here...

The classic iterations of the CR, Dart and Pencil seem to be the most popular. A few Ottos, here and there.

Seems like 98% of those riding a Korua in Ontario are of the carvy Asian demographic, doing their best to be something out of a ToyFilms edit. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm one of them.

Out of curiosity @ad1105 , how often can those folks actually ride? I see a few Koruas floating around in Tahoe. Also mostly ridden by Asians, and more often than not aspiring ToyFilmer lower intermediates broken over at the waist and skidding backfoot turns. Bit cringey to watch because they'd be much better off on narrower, less aggressive decks... they're like a smaller, niche cluster version of Step-On Dorcas lol.

I think the accessibility portrayed in the YFT edits and other snowsurf/carving videos has really popularized brands like Korua, Gentem, Moss, Dupraz, etc., or more generally, directional pow shapes and swallowtails. The lower-intermediate "person who snowboards" has something more achievable to aspire to. But talking to them in the line or on the lift, they have generally zero knowledge of the history or culture of snowboarding, nor do they care. Which is a shame, or maybe I'm just being a crusty gatekeeper. I think this has been discussed somewhere further back in the thread, or maybe in an older version of EL.

That being said however, shoutout to @GD and his crew of Asian Ontarians, who are an exception to this weird phenomenon and actually rip.

So to reiterate.. uhhh yeah, this is one of my favorite boards to date.

I had a pretty okay day on it 11" of light snow on crust & few more fell by noon.

I believe I'll be getting a pencil for next year too. Or maybe this year. Why not.

Yeah, I’d let go of one and keep the other. Trying to fund something else, short-term.

The Pencil64 is my favourite board, ever. So even if I sell it, it’ll find its way back into the quiver eventually.
