Anyway, question about a US board to bring into my quiver, and seems like folks here have some good knowledge and experience.

Current Quiver: 157 Super 8 Pro, 152 Dancehaul Pro, 156 Niseko Pleasures, 156 Cardiff Swell Split, 157 United Shapes Covert Split

Loving the Covert and definitely more US curious now. Wondering if the 158 Cadet or the 156 Deep Reach makes more sense...

Covert is a little more tapered so likely floats slightly better, but is still most equivalent to the cadet. If that's the type of board you want to add, there's no question

I haven't ridden the deep reach yet, but seeing specs and having handled it in person, it seems like an easy daily driver for fans of taper, that has the upper hand in pow, but not as freestyle friendly.

So really, I think it's pretty simple. Freeride/freestyle & good float, or freeride/pow with better float, both being very capable everywhere.

Your quiver has boards that you could say would have some overlap in their intent (cadet/super, deep/niseko), so it depends how you want to do the math. Are you getting rid of anything? You could always sell some & get both like I did...

Yeah, you kind of nailed it with the overlap I have also noticed (Cadet vs S8P or NP vs DR).

The S8P has a little bit of a larger radius at 7.9, and also has the backseat camber, so different enough to not want to replace with the Cadet, but also maybe too similar to have both? Plus this is the last season they are making it, so it's hard to justify getting rid of it.

The NP is one that I could maybe see a one in one out for the DR. The NP only has 2 mm of camber, which sometimes doesn't feel like quite enough when in variable or firm conditions (of course not what this board is designed for, but sometimes you encounter it even on soft days). That being said, do you know the camber height on the DR?

And yes, I could also totally do the same as you and liquidate to pick both of them up! (although it seems like the 158 cadet is sold out everywhere, so maybe that makes my decision a little easier)

Can you feel much of a difference on the top vs the toe?
