I have a AK Freebird in Cnit that has a few tears in it from really nothing… it's def light and stretchy but the durability is questionable. Ive been wearing some Patagonia 2L goretex jacket that seems fine, nice thing about 2L stuff is there's no crinkliness from them. I think if I did more 'expedition' level tours it'd merit me buying top of the line 3L gore, but 90% of my riding is 2-3 hours at the resort. Half of those days last season was just wearing some down puffy.

Other than one epicly wet day at Baker my 2L Volcom Gore has been just fine here in the PNWet.

The only thing you gain from 3L, performance wise, is better breathability. So, if you're just bumping chairs and never really, or very rarely, hiking, 2L will keep you just a dry from the elements as a 3L garment.

The Hover pro-shell 3L is a tank compared to the stretch version of the Hover. I have the pro-shell version and love it, it's weatherproof and bombproof for running around the resort and in particular for bashing through the trees. It's too burly for mild season splitting though (for me), I have a Tusk jacket for that.

I have a buddy that has the Hover stretch version, he loves it but I don't care for it at all. It's WAY lighter material than the pro-shell version, and it always looks wrinkly to me. Cool color though (ballad blue).

Those were my thoughts exactly when I tried the stretch on, way too wrinkly and felt like it would tear as soon as I brushed by a branch when I'm in the trees, so definitely copping the pro version

I bought a pair of oyuki gore tex mitts a couple years ago and theyve been awesome! No complaints at all.

I picked up the Airblaster Beast 3L that I wanted last season, pretty stoked about it. The fit is good for me in medium, I dig the venting (including the two-way zip vent pockets) and the elastic thumb loops. No helmet compatible but I don't do that anyway.

Happy random discovery I made re: Burton AK 2L stuff: the patterned prints have a heavier, more durable face fabric than the solid colorways.

I have a 2023 "Jake Blue Ossicone" Cyclic at home I haven't worn yet. I check out a 2024 with the baby blue "Moonstone"" colorway and was shocked they're the same jacket model. Mine is noticeably heavier just picking it up and the fabric is stiffer.

They didn't list denier on previous years, but I looked at the Cyclic and Swash product pages for 2024... all the patterned prints are 150D, all the solids are 70D. That's a pretty substantial, arguably not even the same jacket model kind of change.

I'm not a pattern guy, but given the Cyclic fits me perfect and I destroy shit.... I guess I'm a pattern guy for now lol. Happy coincidence since I almost picked up a solid colorway.
