Ive got 4 backup pairs of Acerras so not in need. The newish AL Infuse had similar fit for me but they are huge. Maybe a full cm longer than the Adidas.sinned wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 7:20 pmUseful insight. Have 2 backup pairs of Tactical ADV/Lexicons, but was looking at the Nidecker Kita Hybrid for '24. Still want to try.unsuspected wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 5:36 pm Have tried Nidecker boots(can't remember which model) and they don't fit me at all, way too narrow. If you like the fit of Adidas and new Vans last these aren't the boots for you.

Re: The 2022 boot thread
Makes perfect sense because I have to go to 11s in Burton for the same exact reason. I'm 10.5 in adidas and pretty much everything else.Kevington wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 1:27 pm It feels roomy enough to me but I don’t have a wide foot so it’s hard to say. Both my feet are 274mm long and I wear 275 mondo (US9.5), I needed to go 280 (US 10) in Burton Ion but it could be that the pressure on top of the foot is actually flattening it out and making it longer, if that makes any sense?

Interesting article about the new Nidecker boot designs: https://whitelines.com/snowboard-gear/g ... mping.html
Re: The 2022 boot thread
A local retailer started stocking Nidecker, I tried on the Altai today— mostly impressed but one fatal flaw.
The flaw: 95% foam outsole with some token toe rubber, and a pretty soft foam at that. Lower durability and grip, and even just rocking side to side in store I could feel noticeable compression underfoot. Dealbreaker for me, and a silly compromise on a $300 boot.
Shame because they seem quite promising. Exceptional heel lock without feeling stapled down, relatively low volume shin / calf fit— underrated source of heel lift. Not quite as wide as Adidas, but they felt workable for me. This asym cut in the lower boa section felt great… very secure fit but minimal pressure over the top of the foot and ”sixth toe” area.
Kita may work for me. They only had Altai and entry level Sierra in stock. The Kita bumps up to 9/10 flex so feels too aggressive for me everyday, but the Altai felt softer than a 7/10– so maybe Kita would be workable for me. Not having a high-end 7-8 flex boot feels like a major gap in the line though.

Was looking at their line yesterday. Pretty decent pricing when you're used to looking at Burton.

Man, this is really great to hear I just wish the Rift was in that 7-8/10 flex zone instead of 6. I still may try some out anyway.kimchi wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 4:58 pm A local retailer started stocking Nidecker, I tried on the Altai today— mostly impressed but one fatal flaw.

Re: The 2022 boot thread
Important info I forgot: I’m in between a 10 and a 10.5 in Nidecker— I tried on the 10.5 which felt great but maybe a hair big depending on pack out. I’m a 10 in Adidas and 10.5 in most brands.
Just eyeballing compared to Adidas 10, the 10.5 seemed longer toe to heel but less bulky silhouette, especially in the ankle/Achilles area. Respectable I’d say, no 32 or DC WTF level bulk.
Overall, I was impressed. If Altai had a rubber outsole I trusted billygoating, I might have walked out with a set. But I barely trust foam to hold up in parking lots, much less on rock and ice.

6/10 might be generous. Just tried on a set of NIB Adidas Tacticals, a 6.5-7/10 boot by my scale, and they felt substantially stiffer than the Altais (7/10).eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 5:18 pm Man, this is really great to hear I just wish the Rift was in that 7-8/10 flex zone instead of 6. If that rating’s consistent a “9/10” Kita might be right in my wheelhouse.

I’m so glad I bought five pairs of my favorite boot and am set for the next decade before I have to go through all the boot stuff again.

Realistically I’m set for the next 5-6 years with the current Adidas stockpile. One set of Tacticals is nearing end of life, I just started rotating in a set of barely used Acerras, and I have a new-in-box set of Tacticals on ice.
Buuuuut if I can find an equally dope fit, I’d rather rep a snowboarding company that’s still in the game. Or at least a skiboard company lol.
