we got Cobra Dogs, Inverters, and Public’s this year, let the kids have a few clip art bindings.eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 9:25 am Union could be doing some really cool custom releases, but they just keep slapping clip art onto their high backs instead.

Re: BINDINGS
Finally got a few hours in last night, rode the Rome DODs on my UAP. Maybe I don’t ride enough anymore, but on a blind test I would’ve guessed they were a pair of Union Forces lol
Re: BINDINGS
Anyone spend any time on the Union Ultra’s yet? Thoughts?
Re: BINDINGS
So far so good in my Now Drive journey.
I didn't upgrade the straps yet (I can live with the toe strap, the ankle one is terrible): I'm waiting for 23/24 Now catalog, to check if the H3 baseplate will be made also in Size S (if anyone has some news about this...)
One thing I find more difficult coming from a Union Force user, is to strap the bindings standing, especially using some forward lean. Considering I'm using Size M with size 7 boots, it's still difficult to push the boot all the way back in the heelcup (maybe the heelcup is a little bit too tight and my tiny boots are on the large size, in width, I don't know)

Re: BINDINGS
I've got maybe 5 days on my Ultras. They are damp but without loosing boardfeel. The hibacks have a slightly more locked in feeling than stratas if that makes sense. I guess it's because of no padding on stratas hibacks makes them slippery so they're not "grabbing" the back of your boot/pant.
The straps are more supportive than on contact pro and maybe a bit less than stratas straps. Best union straps imo.
The overall feel is in the union mini disc realm only more supportive/dynamic. My Stratas I'm comparing to have 100+ days on snow and i switched the straps to contact pro straps.
Super comfortable with my Vans hi-standard pros and my favorite binding right now.

Re: BINDINGS
Salomon has the same kinda thing, they just poked 2 holes in the foam with a knife, here you have to DYI. Not sure why it’s grown to be such a big deal. Put them on a 28ww board now, and it handled ok. Got all the weight on my instep, but it wasn’t uncomfy, just tiring. That’s a difference from Now with wide boards/heavy conditions I guess. On the other hand, Ultras make my feet less numb than Now, and that makes them better to me. Glad I bought extra Strata highbacks so I can swap. If they make an asym version of that strap that’s a little softer/lower medial and a little wider/higher lateral, I’d be happy with it. There’s some «lag» when going from flatbasing to turns, you can feel the foam just rolling back and forth until you really lay it over, so the feedback isn’t instant, but that’s a given for how it’s made and the vibrationdampeningthing, and they have other bindings for response.Blessed420 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 8:32 amReally comfy bindings with great flex.
Only minus is that if you break the toestraps then you have to replace the whole baseplate

Why would nows make your feet numb?
