That's what I'm using. Fits inside my pack. Though, they're finicky af sometimes.

seeing your pics riding the tips up makes me nervous. I'd rather get a tip in the leg than in the back of my neck/head.

Straps:
Agree, though I only use them when I need to row-push my way across any flat exits (see 2nd half of this vid ). Some people use them, some don't at all. Question of "fitness" I suppose, or the pursuit thereof (over say "just snowboarding"… I mean, it is a sport after all… ).

Tips up:
As @pow_hnd said, they are quite far from head/neck, and very stiffly attached to pack. No way getting anywhere near me. Don't you worry, I am just as, if not more conscientious. Hence the helmet too.
