Re: OUTERWEAR
How sure are we the AK457 line is coming to the US? Burton online chat says ak457 will not be hitting US site. (I usually don’t take their word)
Re: OUTERWEAR
Although I can’t say this is an absolute. My homie, whom I go to Baldface with, is the marketing director at Burton, and he checked for me and said it will be live on Burton 10/3.
There was sample jackets on the site last week. But only in Black
But, just in case, I have my Rakuten account ready to go.
Based on the availability dates on Rakuten, it lines up with what he told me as available date for US website. So makes me feel even better about it.
I’d rather it shows up on US site, because Performer Program will save me some serious coin. It’s looking like MSRP for the jacket in $899 this year, at least based on YEN/USD conversion rate of the jackets up on Rakuten.

Re: OUTERWEAR
Just curious what people here have to say... Is there anyone here that does NOT want or like wrist gaiters? Is there an argument against them?

Re: OUTERWEAR
I love them except for spring days where I'm sweating my ass off and feel like they trap a lot of heat. I really wish my Cyclic jacket had them, it'd be perfect.
Re: OUTERWEAR
I've had jackets with them, my current jackets don't have them and I don't miss them at all. I don't ever remember thinking to myself over the past few seasons that my wrists were getting particularly wet or cold or anything. But I never actually put my thumbs in the provided holes, I definitely didn't like the extra material in my mitts, I always just jammed the gaiter up against the mitt.
What I *do* like is the AK457 style thumb loops that go over your mitts/gloves. Those actually work to keep the sleeves from riding up. So I guess I'm against normal gaiters because that means the jacket probably won't have the over the mitts sleeve holder down loops.
Re: OUTERWEAR
I quite like them for resort riding for most of the year, minus spring riding, when they get too hot. I don't like them when touring for the same reason.

Re: OUTERWEAR
I remember my first AB jacket, the Jed jacket that was black and camo. I was PSYCHED on the wrist gaiters. I haven’t had a jacket with them probably since 2013 but I’m not anti them either.
