how's that Hornet?, seems to be one of the decks that never gets attention from the gentem fanbois
I actually didn't ride it at all last year, and rarely the year before so my memory is likely spotty... Comparing to the Moss PQ54 that I had earlier the Hornet A) clicked much more immediately, I never actually felt totally comfortable on the Moss, even after trying to adjust my riding to suit it, on multiple occasions. The Hornet is directional, wide, and tapered sure, but it wasn't hard adjusting to it. B) was just way more fun overall. The Moss felt like it only had one radius that it was happy making turns at whereas the Hornet was easier for me to manipulate into different turn shapes. This could all be read as "the Moss is more exotic so it needs more time, the Hornet doesn't ride like anything special" but I don't care when the Moss wasn't any fun and the Hornet was.

Let me get back to you once I get a few laps on it this season, I'm hoping to get out for some night carving sessions locally with a few other dorks.
looks like it has some camber to it too, my stingray is basically flat which is why I never use it where I live

Think a major point of the Hornet to Flyfisk line is having enough tail for pop on jumps and landing.

Ultras might be my new favorite. Flexible but still responsive. New forces are similar to the classics. Somehow they feel better. Slightly more damp and flexible under foot. Hard to explain. Old Classics might be slightly stiffer.

Dunno how I missed this! I pretty much rode it all last season. I have the 153 and wish I had a 56 or 59 to go with it. I nabbed the 153 though since my local riding is like.. 850ft of vert. It has very..agreeable and lively flex, but has enough support to land backseat and not fold the tail over. Plenty of 56s and 59s out there but really want another Palmer base.

Glad you found one and liked it. Wish they went for a different Palmer graphic (Caddi) but still.
