United Shapes
Re: United Shapes
I like it at ref, but have tried it with just a little extra setback (~1/2") for some of our deep preseason days. Every board is different, but for all around riding I think their ref setback feels nicely balanced. Personally, I think the pow inserts are overkill & I'd just go with the pack behind reference if I felt the need, but I'd most likely be on a different board at that point
Re: United Shapes
I've only been on reference which I'm super happy with, but haven't had it in deeper snow so not sure about that. I'd probably try setting it back some for fun, but like others have said it's doubtful that I'd ever use the deepest inserts.
Re: United Shapes
I'm only on ref... even when it's deep. I've never used the deep daze inserts

Re: United Shapes
How are you Horizon guys liking them? Got the 159 on my shortlist.
Re: United Shapes
I have the 159 and I really like it. It could easily be my only board as it can handle pretty much everything short of heli/cat boarding or all day jibbing, neither of which I do. It could probably do well enough in those situations too.
Just enough early rise at both ends to give it a playful feel and a bit of help in powder. Snappy feeling and really nice to carve. I’d say it’s a tad stiffer than advertised but not stiff, maybe 6/10 on a general scale. Very fast base. Just an all round fun time board that you don’t need to think about.

Re: United Shapes
Awesome, I saw you grabbed one a while back. What's buttering/pressing like on it? And does it feel more damp like a Burton or more chattery like a Capita?Kevington wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 9:44 am I have the 159 and I really like it. It's got a lot of rebound so its not super buttery for me at 170lbs. Its doable but the snappy flex is better for pop off jumps and springy carves than sitting on a tail press.eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 10:04 amAwesome, I saw you grabbed one a while back. It's more on the Capita side of things though not quite as light and chattery. If I had to find fault then it's that it could be a bit more damp. That's really a personal preference and geographical specificity thing tho. If I rode good snow most of the time it wouldn't be an issue.

Re: United Shapes
i would echo pretty much what @Kevington said. solid daily driver that’s excellent for casual park laps, all around riding, and resort pow days.
mine’s feeling a little soft after 3 seasons/moving to stiffer & longer decks, but it still stays in regular rotation. i love it paired with bindings on the softer but still responsive side ( Strata/Ultra).

Re: United Shapes
Love that. Sounds like it could be a good one board quiver for trips out west? Same as what I posted in the Burton thread, I need something to take to CO/WA/ID when we visit family. I basically want it to float me if there's fresh, but otherwise be fun for lazy park laps, side hits, and buttering shenanigans with my college buddies.coleslawed wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:12 pm i would echo pretty much what @Kevington said. solid daily driver that’s excellent for casual park laps, all around riding, and resort pow days.
