To confirm - your issue was the hardware, not the clip itself?
They are both top choice, and IMO provide tension between the halves equally as well when adjusted properly, so I think it comes down to preference between active/passive. I prefer passive so long as they work well, and I think phantom nailed the design. If strength is of any concern, Phantom wins there, but I think a scenario in which that matters is unlikely.
The spark design is meh to me, and their own video didn't convince me that they're even on par with the other two as far as tension between the two halves.

Yeah hardware issue but totally user error, I neglected to Loctite and tighten the midclip hardware before the tour. That said, it’s apparently known to happen with the 1.0 KK clips more so than the 2.0. I don’t have any huge problem with the Ultraclips themselves, just looking to possibly simplify my setup. If there’s no lost strength in connection with a passive system I’m all for trying it.

As long as they're adjusted properly, you're good. Should take a little force and not be
too easy. I seem to like them a bit more snug than shown in videos - just before it becomes difficult. Best practice on snow is to rest the board on top of your boot for switching over.
No problem at all with Karakoram, but phantom simplicity is really nice. I've had several days with cold hands, or ice/whatever, where it would've been nice not to deal with a latch. Hardly a complaint, but still. MSR tool always saves the day, anyway.

Thanks for the feedback. Agreed that MSR tool is a lifesaver. Will give the Phantoms a closer look and probably change things up.

TIL the slots on splitboard highbacks were for threading voile straps through. I always just wrapped around them

Was out on my 65w yesterday, felt lighter then the stratos when travelling uphill for whatever reason. Having more tail for doing wheelies on the way down an avy path felt fucking unbelievable. Mach 10 and super solid board. Stratos was also very very good for tight trees but harder to ride on mixed conditions or hardpack.

The Stratos is on my shortlist along with the US Shapes and Cardiff Goat to replace the Solution. That thing is so so good in the right spots, but can be a bit of a bear when it gets tighter and slower, even though it is super versatile over all. Interesting that the Stratos feels heavier Have you ridden the Hover Split?

All of my 2 cents are opinion only, haven't verified anything in spec.
It could also be the placement of the touring bracket? I'm not completely sure. I also feel like the stratos has more spoon so the solution just felt better going uphill. Also nope but it looks awesome and I would potentially look at one as my next splitty. I can tell you if you're riding mellow lower angle(<30) slopes or tighter trees just the thought of turning on the stratos has you on the other edge.
