i got a old pair size 8 from before they got the beefy outsole. i have used them with contact pro in both medium and small mostly.
with medium bindings with heelcup on smallest setting and ankle strap on shortest it works.
with small and heelcup on larges setting its like a glove.
i stopped focusing on "performance" and now all i care about with bindings and boots is "feeling" if that makes sense. =P
it has made me be more smooth and not just smash in to stuff.

Has anyone run now select pros and drives on a transition finder that could give me a good comparison? Replacing some Union strs from last season, just worried the drives might not be as enjoyable for some mild freestyle mixed in with my normal riding.

I've run the Pilots and Drives. Pilots are around the same flex as Select Pros. What's your wonder?

Would I regret going with the drives if my riding is probably 50/50 between trees and steeper lines with side hits and small-medium jumps? They sound great from what I’ve read, but I usually do chiller park laps and side hit sessions when I ride with friends so I don’t want to wish I went for the select pros. Another setup isn’t in the cards right now otherwise I’d probably do an Otto and a dart or something similar.

If you aren't a super stiff binding person, I'd go Select Pros

Really enjoyed my Select Pros. I used them on my Powder Racer and Indoor Survival last season. They're by no means soft, the highback just has a different shape/flex pattern than the other Nows (less default forward lean, flatter toward the top to allow lateral movement, while still being progressively stiffer toward the bottom). I rode them in the upper bowls at Copper and WP last season and they felt fine, but Colorado is generally flatter terrain.

I think they're a great all mountain binding for what you're describing. They come with all durometers of bushings so you can make them slightly more responsive and I also swapped the straps to Jones ones and that stiffened them up as well. You gotta remember you're also at a more responsive starting point by default with Skate Tech.

Awesome, the select pros sound like the right choice then. Thanks for the advice, eventually I’ll have to try the Burton straps once I get a feel for the stock straps and if I like them or not.

i run drives on my TF '54 and love them but am going to switch to burton straps for sure, the ankle/heel strap is incredibly stiff, makes for tweaking things a bit challenging.

for reference, the genesis is probably my favorite binding i've ridden in the last few years

Man, that old Drive Hyperfuse strap was AWFUL. I think I have 2 pairs just floating around my extra parts bin that I literally might just throw away lol. Zero flex, zero give, just full bore all the time. They finally updated it this year with the new Drive revamp.

Although I know one shop buyer who told me he preferred the Drive strap to the Mercury, so different stokes I guess.
