In the few years I've owned mine - some seasons I ride it a lot, and others it only gets a couple days - but it is certainly a board I can't ever see letting go. That is a rare category. Fullbag hammerhead 71, and my last full-camber Burton fish 160 are the only others. And I don't ride the fish anymore.

For the korua guys, I could see the pencil 64 becoming one of them...

I have had an Amplid Pentaquark 156 (they used to make them in two sizes, but now only 158) for the last five years as my carving board. Like you, some seasons it gets a lot of use, and since seasons it doesn't. While it, and I'm sure this board, can be fine off piste and in pow, it's definitely not preferable.

There were descenders kicking around at the beginning of summer but I think they’re all gone now

I have only tried the cheater 70 and shorty 64 (purple one, and the new black one). It seems like I might be the only person on the planet who didn't jive with the shorty. It makes so much sense in theory, but it was a miss for me (I rode each one multiple times in different conditions). As I've mentioned in the past, the short version is I don't like the full nose rocker, and the nose is way too soft for me.

After the cheater, personally, the next one would be the previous pipeliner with 260 waist. Lars offered to send it to me once he got the new 275ww version, but then realized how perfect it was for certain days, so I may have to visit Fernie to try it.

One of my favorite things about the cheater is that I love it in all conditions. I maintain Craig Kelly would have loved it as a big mountain board. When I don't ride it frequently, it's not because I don't have the conditions for it. I'm just on other boards, and that's how it goes sometimes.

There is an imaginary board I would ride every day, made by stranda, which Mats doesn't make yet. It would be some sort of love-child between the cheater build/camber profile and the shorty silhouette.

Yeah a lot of the boards are a bit wide for my size 8.5 boots.

Have you thought about giving the descender a try? That's the only other one I really want to get on myself. Probably 158.

I don't mind width, to a point (size 9 here) - but for the pipeliner, 275 vs 260 is an obvious choice

Descender is not really my style. However, I would certainly try one in a demo situation. 62W probably. Almost had the opportunity to try a 61 a couple years ago, but didn't work out.

I still have the purple Shorty 64. Just feels like it would take losing 50lbs for it to "click." And I don't quite have that to lose - only about half

i love the shorty. maybe favorite board ever. wish he would make a 169w. if the decender didnt have those edge bumps id probably own the 166w

anyways, just got a marketing email for a 162w tree surfer. seems pretty neat.

The Tree Surfer could certainly do with a stiffer nose.
