I've heard of wonky edges from them before, and detuned contact points, but apparently this is a thing on some boards. Pretty wild, it's like they completely forgot to touch the edges at the factory

Wouldn't this be a warranty issue? If they forgot to properly tune the edges before it left the factory you have to question what other steps were missed in quality control. Surprised the owner didn't submit a claim. Or maybe they did and Burton denied it.

Yeah, fair points. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the board as a whole.. taking it to Lars will give a better result than anything Burton could do, and without having to deal with that process. So, I can totally understand why someone would take this route. Plus, board is still under warranty

I do hate Stranda because of my personal absolutely terrible experience with them, I probably will not be brave enough to trust any other small brand either, because of Stranda. Also, seems that they ruined “perfectly good Lars” as well, IMHO he is shitting on other brands way too much. For example, he wanted to mention for some reason how bad quality Amplid Centrifugal Collection boards are, well, my Amplid and all my friends Amplids seems to be perfect quality, way overbuild, the only bad quality board I have seen is my Stranda Cheater.

I know, that this video here is like pouring honey into ears, but it does not make it right.

The amount of steel he removed from the edge is fucking wild. I've heard for a long time about bad tunes from Burton but have not had that experience with the last B boards I bought. Are they detuning the entire edge on purpose?

im not suprised that public bases arent that good, have been waxing it after every day i have taken it out and after 2-3h its a total whiteout on the base.

guess i have to do a base grind to it but none of the boards i have ever had this bad base,

3 days of riding and five waxes and it still drys out super fast.

It may not be drying out, but just excessive wax turning white, try to scrub it with fingernail, if you can scrub this whitening off – it is excessive wax. Brushing with horsehair brush after riding may help…

yeah i usually just do scraping brass brush and nylon brush to top it off so there shouldnt be any excess in the base.

i do the same on the capita outsider and its never looked like that, or none of my boards ever.

I'm not saying that base is good, it is a problem, but understanding the cause just may help to deal with it, at least it helped me. If it is excessive wax, rewaxing wont help, but brushing after riding just may.

since i got a plastic roto with 3k rmp, i havent had a problem getting extra wax off after scraping.
