Can anyone comment on how the Horizon compares to a Nitro Dropout? Looking for a mid flexing, twinish all-mountain board with a fun shape, stuck between these two.

don't have intel on the newest iteration of the Horizon, but I'd definitely say mine is softer than the Dropout I demoed a few years back.

kind of a weird comparison, where the Horizon is a more directional shape, but I'd say it's more freestyle friendly while the Dropout is twin sidecut, but more all mountain flex.

thanks. always liked what US had going on but never been able to get on one, may just have to pull the trigger. You think my size 11 boots gonna be an issue on the newer 159 or worth trying to find an older 159MW ?

it's still a 259 on the new 159's, that should be pretty solid for an 11

I've been on the new Horizon 159 as an OBQ this season. It's pretty wide under the inserts with the 7.8m sidecut. I can get it really far over with US10 boots and -3 degrees on my back foot with no problems. I'm 6' 170lbs for reference. I've ridden it on small Scandinavian hills, park, mini pipe and in big mountains in the Alps and its never let me down. Overall a fun ride that is playful but can handle some speed and responds well to more aggressive input too.

I prefer it to the Cadet I demoed. I think they changed the lineup so the Cadet is more freeride and the Horizon all mountain. They have a twin coming next year.

I haven't ridden the Dropout but the Horizon is great for what you are looking for. Very fun to carve. Mad poppy on jumps. The nose is really big (for an all mountain board) and smoothly blended both in profile and sidecut, so it's great in powder and lovely to engage turns with. The base is fast. Personal taste of course but it looks 100 times nicer than the Nitro.

Pull that trigger!!

I LOVE my Cadet, but the Horizon sounds super fun too in a different way. I may need both for next season...

I now have a voucher for my local shop due to warrantying my exploded boots. The only thing they have that interests me is a Cadet 158 on sale...

@Kevington go for it! If you end up not loving it I'm sure it'll be easy to sell.

I'm very tempted to get it and try to swap/sell my Horizon 159 for a 155.
Cadet 158 and Horizon 155 would be a sweet 2BQ for my needs. Deep Reach is also an option but generally speaking I just can't buy boards with no tail. Even on pow days the urge to back 180 everything is too strong.
