Some boards from the Classic lineup (Otto, Transition Finder, CafeRacer, Pencil) will be manufactured in China, moving forward. Engineering and product development will still take place between Switzerland and Germany, and all other boards will continue to be pressed in Poland.
Fuck... Maybe ordering an Otto 61 for a back up to have a Poland produced one
Where did you hear this?
Direct from them. Been in contact with Korua to help start running demos in Ontario. The demo fleet sent our way included a few pressed in China.
Dang... I honestly don't care that they are pressed in China... I more care that they will come out riding exactly like they do now.
I don't want them to get softer and less damp...
I just emailed Lino and Marko about getting a Poland produced backup Otto and Pin Tonic backup for myself.

I didn't get a chance to ride one of the China boards... I'll see if I can get one out in the next few days. Will report back once I do.
I'm gonna be heartbroken if quality dips to where their boards were in the earlier days.

I'm less worried about quality than I am about how they ride. I don't want them getting softer and less damp. Honestly, there are factories in China that put out good quality products. I'd prefer the boards are all still made in the EU, but obviously thats out of my control..
I sent Lino and Marko an email...

Is it due to costs or something else?

If they start experimenting with different core or base materials and so on, that could be a reason.

Okay, so I heard back from the guys at Korua.
Here’s the deets. The TF, CR and Otto are going China. Lino says the boards will be a little bit softer, mainly on the smaller models to make them more rideable for lightweight riders. He says that also unfortunately the white will be just a tad different coming out of this factory as well.
He said that China is a result of growth and demand, more specifically, the demand for more sizes in those three models. In order to have a deeper size run they had to move production. The Poland factory was not going to be able to accommodate more sizes and an overall higher sales volume as the brand grows.
* he didn’t say that verbatim, but it’s what he said.*
So it looks like there will be more sizes coming, and for those three decks a touch softer flex. He really went on and on about reassuring me that quality won’t dip.
So, it is what it is, but growth sometimes requires change, so a good problem to have I guess.

When you’re telling Todd Richards what deck to ride…. And he agrees with you.
